Broncos' Patrick Surtain: Nabs record-breaking extension
Surtain and the Broncos agreed Wednesday on a four-year, $96 million contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Surtain's deal includes $77.5 million guaranteed, and his annual average salary of $24 million makes him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL, surpassing the Packers' Jaire Alexander ($21 million). The 24-year-old received the lavish extension after turning in back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons, including a first-team All-Pro nod in 2022. He suited up for all 17 games for the Broncos in 2023, tallying a career-high 69 tackles with 12 passes defensed and one interception.
