Broncos' Patrick Surtain: Impresses in rookie season
Surtain (calf) finished the 2021 season with 58 tackles (45 solo), 14 passes defended and four interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.
Surtain put together a strong rookie campaign in 2021, finishing with the most passes defended and second most interceptions on the Broncos. The rookie cornerback played in all but one game this season, and with his performance proved to be worth the ninth overall pick in last year's draft. As Surtain continues to develop, the Alabama product will likely be a force for years to come in Denver.

Broncos' Patrick Surtain: Misses another practice
Surtain (calf) didn't practice Wednesday, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.
Surtain has missed back-to-back practices, and coach Vic Fangio called him "highly questionable" to play Saturday against the Chiefs. With the Broncos out of the playoff picture, it would seem likely that Denver would be overly cautious with their star rookie. If that is indeed the case, the 2021 No. 9 overall pick would end his first pro campaign with 58 tackles, 14 pass deflections and four interceptions -- including one returned for a touchdown.
