Saints' Kendre Miller: Six carries in defeat
Miller rushed six time for nine yards and caught two of three targets while losing a fumble in Monday night's 45-24 loss to Atlanta.
Miller was rumored to be on track for a larger workload in Week 4 after starting running back Travis Etienne (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve. Miller was only on the field for 26 percent of the team's offensive snaps, which could have been as a result of a first-quarter fumble that Atlanta ultimately recovered. Veteran Alvin Kamara was on the field for 41 percent of the offensive snaps, turning seven carries into 23 yards and two scores while also reeling in five of seven targets for 35 yards in the contest. It appears as if Miller will operate as the No. 2 option behind Kamara in Etienne's absence, making him a low-upside fantasy option.

Saints' Kendre Miller: In the mix for more snaps
Miller is in line for a larger offensive role for as long as Travis Etienne (hamstring) is on injured reserve, John DeShazler of the Saints' official site reports.
Etienne's placement on IR on Thursday comes after the star running back aggravated a hamstring injury during the Saints' Week 3 loss to the Raiders. With Etienne sidelined, Miller and Alvin Kamara figure to operate as the Saints' top running backs moving forward, with undrafted rookie CJ Donaldson also in the mix for backfield work. Miller has 13 carries for 44 yards (3.4 YPC) and a touchdown along with two catches (on three targets) for five yards through two regular-season games.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Avoids injury designation for Week 3
Miller (illness) doesn't carry an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Miller was under the weather Thursday, keeping him off the practice field. However, he was a full participant Friday. Miller was a healthy scratch for the 24-17 win over Baltimore in Week 2, meaning he is in danger of suffering the same fate versus Las Vegas, though his services may be needed on special teams with Barion Brown (hamstring) ruled out. With that in mind, if Miller is inactive, that would likely mean more work for Alvin Kamara and CJ Donaldson behind Travis Etienne.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Sits out practice with illness
Miller was a non-participant in Thursday's practice due to an illness, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
After being a healthy inactive Week 2 win over the Ravens while the Saints welcomed Alvin Kamara (knee) back from a one-game absence, Miller will now have to overcome an illness as he looks to re-enter the backfield mix Sunday versus the Raiders. Even if he makes a full recovery from the ailment, Miller may need No. 1 back Travis Etienne (hamstring) to sit out the Week 3 game in order to avoid another inactive status. Etienne has been limited in both of the Saints' practices this week, clouding his availability for Sunday.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Healthy scratch in Week 2
Miller (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Sunday in Baltimore.
Miller served as the No. 2 RB behind Travis Etienne in Week 1 with Alvin Kamara inactive due to a knee issue, but with Kamara back in action Sunday, Miller will be a healthy scratch. That leaves CJ Donaldson as the active third backfield option behind Etienne and Kamara in Week 2. Miller's next chance for game action is next Sunday against the Raiders.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Finds end zone in Week 1 loss
Miller turned nine carries into 30 yards and a touchdown while adding a 19-yard kickoff return during the Saints' 31-30 overtime loss to the Lions on Sunday.
The Saints were kept scoreless in the first half, but Miller helped get New Orleans on the board in the third quarter with an eight-yard touchdown run. In the absence of Alvin Kamara (knee), Miller played 29 of 90 offensive snaps (32.2 percent) and operated as the Saints' RB2 behind Travis Etienne (53 offensive snaps). Miller's role on offense would decrease drastically if Kamara was cleared to play against the Ravens in Week 2.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Back to practice
Miller was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Miller was dealing with an unknown issue, but the running back's presence in practice indicates he has recovered. The 24-year-old is set to be the No. 2 option behind Travis Etienne for the Saints' Week 1 matchup with the Lions.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Only dealing with minor issue
Miller is believed to have sustained only a minor injury at Tuesday's practice, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
It's still not clear what type of injury Miller is dealing with, but it appears he avoided any sort of serious setback. It remains to be seen exactly how the Saints backfield behind starter Travis Etienne will look in Week 1, but Miller has a chance to factor into the mix if he's healthy.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Exits practice Tuesday
Miller exited Tuesday's practice alongside trainers with an apparent injury, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
There's been no indication Miller is dealing with a serious injury, but his departure leaves just Audric Estime as the lone healthy running back behind Travis Etienne, as Alvin Kamara is still recovering from a sprained MCL in his knee. A third-round pick in 2023, Miller has appeared in just 21 career regular-season games, rushing 127 times for 497 yards (3.9 YPC) and three touchdowns.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Gets 10 touches in preseason finale
Miller rushed nine times for 42 yards and caught his only target for 15 yards in Friday's 27-24 preseason win over the Cowboys.
Miller finished four rushing yards shy of Audric Estime for the team lead, while recent trade acquisition Zamir White was the only Saints running back to score a touchdown. At least two of these three running backs are expected to make the 53-man roster behind Travis Etienne while Alvin Kamara (knee) is unavailable. Miller has a chance to be Etienne's primary backup while Kamara is on the shelf, though Miller is far from guaranteed to stay healthy himself considering injuries have limited the 2023 third-round pick to just 21 regular-season appearances through three seasons.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Leads NOLA rushers Saturday
Miller turned six carries into 22 yards and did not haul in his lone target during the Saints' 34-0 preseason loss to the Rams on Saturday. He also returned one kickoff for 29 yards.
Travis Etienne joined Alvin Kamara (knee) and Audric Estime (ankle) on the sidelines for Saturday's contest, with Miller being named the starting running back. Miller led all Saints running backs in rushing yards, though the only carry he had that went for 10-plus yards late in the first quarter was nullified by a holding penalty. Devin Neal left Saturday's contest due to a hamstring injury, and coupled with Estime's ankle issue, that puts Miller in a good position to secure his spot on the Saints' 53-man roster as the team's RB3 behind Etienne and Kamara. The Saints wrap up the preseason Friday on the road against the Cowboys.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Returns to practice, competing for snaps
Miller (back) and Devin Neal (hamstring) returned to practice Tuesday, while teammate Alvin Kamara (knee) is expected to be out for more than a month, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
With Audric Estime (ankle) also banged up, Miller and Neal might even end up competing for the No. 2 RB job in Week 1. Such a scenario would be favorable for Travis Etienne's workload projection, as opposed to losing a chunk of the targets (and some carries) to a healthy Kamara. Before all the injuries, Miller was positioned to compete with Neal and Estime for the No. 3 RB job.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Not playing Saturday
Miller (back) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Jaguars, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Miller has been limited in his practice participation due to a back issue. He'll be sidelined for Saturday's preseason opener and will aim to be available for the Saints' second exhibition game on Saturday, Aug. 22 against the Rams. Devin Neal (hamstring) is also sidelined, opening up more rotational backfield reps for Ty Chandler, Audric Estime and CJ Donaldson.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Absent from practice
Miller (back) did not participate at the Saints' training camp practice Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Miller was able to log a limited session Wednesday, but he took a step back Thursday, ultimately spending the day on the sidelines as he continues to nurse a back injury. Head coach Kellen Moore described the running back as "day-to-day" ahead of Friday's practice session.

Saints' Kendre Miller: Limited with back issue
Miller (back) was limited in Wednesday's training camp session due to injury, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Miller has transitioned from one injury to another, ridding himself of injury designation for his 2025 torn ACL only to suffer a back issue. The running back has been able to practice through the pain but only in a limited capacity. It is unclear what the timeline for full participation is, but the consistent injured status does not favor Miller as he attempts to beat out Devin Neal for the No. 3 running back role.
