Texans' Woody Marks: Huge workload in win
Marks rushed the ball 26 times for 68 yards in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chiefs. He added two receptions on three targets for eight yards and a touchdown.
Marks was already well on his way to taking over the Houston backfield, but he had the chance to handle the entire workload after Nick Chubb suffered an injury to his ribs early in the second quarter. While it was an inefficient showing against a tough defense, Marks topped 20 carries for the first time in his rookie campaign, helping him reach at least 60 rushing yards for the fifth time in his last seven games. He also made the most of his work as a pass catcher, recording a nine-yard touchdown reception early in the second quarter. Marks missed out on the chance for an additional score after he was forced off the field due to an injury midway through the fourth quarter, giving Dare Ogunbwale a goal-line carry. While Marks hasn't been overly efficient, he has earned at least 16 carries in each of his last four games, and his role would only become more secure if Chubb is forced to miss additional time.

Texans' Woody Marks: Set to play Sunday
Marks (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at Kansas City.
After Marks began the week with no activity due to an ankle injury Wednesday, coach DeMeco Ryans told Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle that the rookie fourth-round pick was among a select few DNPs that was expected to be OK for Week 14 action. Marks then progressed to a limited session Thursday and all activity Friday, thereby clearing him to play Sunday. Since the Texans' Week 6 bye, Marks has turned 110 touches into 441 yards from scrimmage and two TDs over the last seven contests, while fellow RB Nick Chubb notched 61 touches for 232 total yards and one TD during that span. As a result, Marks should retain a majority share of the backfield reps among the pair this weekend.

Texans' Woody Marks: Limited practice Thursday
Marks (ankle) was limited at practice Thursday.
After logging a 'DNP' in Wednesday's session, Marks was able to return to a limited practice a day later, which has him trending in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Chiefs approaches. Friday's injury report will clarify whether the running back carries an injury designation into the weekend, but it's worth noting that coach DeMeco Ryans indicated Wednesday that Marks was among Houston's initial DNPs who should be fine for Week 14 action, per Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle.

Texans' Woody Marks: Back at practice Thursday
Marks (ankle) returned to practice Thursday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Marks was a non-participant in Wednesday's session, so his return to the field a day later aligns with coach DeMeco Ryans' previous comment to Alexander that the running back was among the Texans' initial DNPs who should be fine for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. The team's upcoming injury report will reveal if Marks was limited Thursday or practiced fully.

Texans' Woody Marks: Not practicing Wednesday
Marks (foot) wasn't spotted at practice Wednesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle and Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston report.
Marks exited Sunday's win over the Colts due to a foot injury, but was able to return to the contest en route to logging 41 snaps, 19 carries and a catch. With no setbacks having been reported since then, there's a solid chance that Marks' absence is maintenance-related, a notion echoed by coach DeMeco Ryans, who, according to Wilson, indicated that Marks was among the Texans' Wednesday DNPs who will be fine for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

Texans' Woody Marks: Big workload despite injury
Marks rushed 19 times for 64 yards and brought in his only target for three yards in the Texans' 20-16 win over the Colts on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.
Marks exited the game for a spell in the first half due to a foot injury, but the rookie not only made his way back in relatively short order, he put together a solid performance overall. His carry total was a new career high, and he managed to cross the 60-yard mark on the ground for the third time in four games as well. Marks was able to finish the contest and even managed key nine- and four-yard runs on the Texans' game-icing drive, and he should remain in clear control of the ground attack during a Week 14 road clash against the Chiefs next Sunday night.

Texans' Woody Marks: Solid as lead back in win
Marks rushed 16 times for 74 yards and brought in his only target for minus-5 yards in the Texans' 23-19 win over the Bills on Thursday night.
Marks once again served as the clear lead back over Nick Chubb, who logged only six carries. The rookie delivered a career-best performance in terms of yardage, and he recorded a career-high three runs of double-digit yards. Marks appears clearly settled in as the leader of the backfield and will continue helming the ground attack in a critical Week 13 road showdown against the Colts on Sunday, Nov. 30.
