James McCourt: Let go by Las Vegas
The Raiders cut McCourt from the practice squad Tuesday.
McCourt was added to the Raiders' practice squad Oct. 24 as insurance for Daniel Carlson, who was dealing with a groin injury leading up to their Week 8 contest against the Lions on Monday night. Carlson was able to suit up for the game, and McCourt was a healthy scratch as a result.

Raiders' James McCourt: Could kick for Vegas on Monday
The Raiders elevated McCourt from their practice squad prior to Monday's game against the Lions, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The decision to elevate McCourt would seem to hint that the Raiders may have some doubt about the availability of kicker Daniel Carlson (groin), who is listed as questionable ahead of Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. The Raiders will release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes prior to that point, which will shed light on whether Carlson will suit up. If Carlson is sidelined for the Week 9 contest, McCourt would be on track to make his NFL debut. During his collegiate career at Illinois, McCourt converted 37 of 52 field-goal attempts (71.2 percent).

Raiders' James McCourt: Healthy scratch Monday
McCourt (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's contest at Detroit.
The Raiders elevated McCourt from the practice squad Monday as insurance in the event their regular kicker Daniel Carlson was unable to play through a groin injury. Having said that, Carlson is active for Week 8, relegating McCourt to a healthy scratch.

James McCourt: Catches on to Vegas' practice squad
The Raiders signed McCourt to the practice squad Tuesday.
McCourt was cut by the Jaguars on Aug. 29 ahead of the 53-man roster deadline after failing to beat out Brandon McManus for the starting job. McCourt would be the next man up for the kicking job in Las Vegas if anything should happen to current starter Daniel Carlson, who is 11 of 14 on field goals this season.

James McCourt: Cut by Jacksonville
The Jaguars waived McCourt on Tuesday, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.
McCourt signed a future/reserve deal with Jacksonville in January but couldn't beat out veteran Brandon McManus. The undrafted kicker out of Illinois spent his rookie season on the Jaguars' practice squad and could be looking at a similar role in Year 2.

Jaguars' James McCourt: Inks future deal
The Jaguars signed McCourt to a reserve/future contract Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
McCourt signed with the Jaguars' practice squad after failing to make the team's initial 53-man roster to begin the season. The undrafted kicker out of Illinois never made any appearances during his rookie campaign, but with his new contract, he'll be able to stick around the organization and compete for a larger role during the offseason.

James McCourt: Waived by Jacksonville
The Jaguars waived McCourt on Wednesday.
McCourt, an undrafted rookie out of Illinois, and Jake Verity (undisclosed) both made the team's initial 53-man roster, but both kickers were let go Wednesday to make room for a number of waiver claims, including former Lions kicker Riley Patterson. McCourt appeared in only one preseason game with Jacksonville and made both of his field-goal attempts, including a 54-yarder.

James McCourt: Cut Monday
McCourt was waived by the Chargers on Monday.
McCourt was let go after he was unable to beat out incumbent starter Dustin Hopkins for the Chargers' kicking job this offseason. The undrafted free agent from Illinois connected on both his extra-point attempts over Los Angeles' first two preseason games, and he may manage to land a contract on the team's practice squad heading into the regular season.

Jaguars' James McCourt: Claimed by Jacksonville
The Jaguars claimed McCourt off waivers from the Chargers on Tuesday, Hays Carlyon of 1010 AM WJXL Jacksonville reports.
McCourt was signed by the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois in April, but he was unable to beat out incumbent starter Dustin Hopkins for the kicking job this offseason. However, McCourt quickly found a new opportunity and actually finds himself as the No. 1 guy in Jacksonville after the Jaguars waived Ryan Santoso on Tuesday. Nonetheless, Jacksonville's kicking situation has remained in flux throughout training camp, so McCourt will likely have some competition in the near future.
