Cody Freeman 3B | TEX
Rangers' Cody Freeman: Activated, optioned to Round Rock
The Rangers activated Freeman (neck) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and optioned him to Triple-A Round Rock, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
He's over his neck problem, but Freeman will remain at Round Rock where he had been on a rehab assignment. The 25-year-old is 4-for-17 at the dish during his brief time in the majors in 2026.

Christian Franklin LF | BAL
Orioles' Christian Franklin: Slated for promotion
The Orioles recalled Franklin from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.
Acquired from the Nationals via trade Monday, Franklin will report directly to the major-league club. He's slashed .249/.375/.360 with six home runs, 17 stolen bases and a 65:107 BB:K over 93 games at the Triple-A level in 2026. Franklin can handle all three outfield spots and is likely to operate in a reserve role. He'll be making his big-league debut when he gets into a game.

Myles Straw LF | TOR
Blue Jays' Myles Straw: Gets start in center against righty
Straw went 2-for-3 with a double and a stolen base in Monday's 3-1 win over the Astros.
With Daulton Varsho having swapped clubhouses at the trade deadline, the Blue Jays gave the right-handed-hitting Straw the start in center field in their first game following the trade, even with right-hander Cristian Javier on the mound for the Astros. Nathan Lukes, who has also seen action in center this season and bats from the left side, received the start in right field instead. While the Jays will likely continue to mix and match in their outfield, Straw has the best defensive profile of all their current center-field options, although his offensive contributions are lacking. Through 100 games in 2026, the 31-year-old has managed a .223/.279/.324 slash line with three home runs, seven steals, 17 RBI and 29 runs.

Cody Bellinger LF | NYY
Yankees' Cody Bellinger: Running, hitting and throwing
Bellinger (hamstring) has been doing some outdoor running while also hitting and throwing, per MLB.com.
Bellinger seems to be making progress from the left hamstring strain he suffered in late July. Still, the veteran outfielder isn't expected to be activated from the IL until late August or early September. The Yankees acquired Heliot Ramos in a trade with San Francisco on Monday, providing some depth in the outfield with Bellinger and Aaron Judge (ribs) both currently sidelined.

Aaron Judge RF | NYY
Yankees' Aaron Judge: NY remains optimistic about return
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Monday that the team is "still very optimistic" that Judge (ribs) will return this season, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Cashman explained that "there's a very high likelihood" Judge will be able to recover from the fracture in his right ribs in time to play again this season but acknowledged that "there's challenges with all that too." Naturally, Judge's return could be impacted by New York's place in the standings, and the team currently sits 3.5 games out of first place in the AL East but a comfortable six games up for a wild-card spot. Judge hasn't played since May 31, and he's yet to resume baseball activities, so despite Cashman's optimism, the slugger doesn't appear anywhere close to rejoining the big-league club.

Jasson Dominguez RF | NYY
Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Demoted to minors
The Yankees optioned Dominguez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Monday's 13-7 loss to the Cardinals.
Dominguez is expected to give up his spot on the 26-man active roster and in the everyday lineup to outfielder Heliot Ramos, whom the Yankees acquired in a trade with the Giants on Monday. Since making his return from the injured list June 13 after recovering from an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, Dominguez slashed just .235/.274/.382 with five home runs, seven steals, 10 RBI and 18 runs in 44 games.

Lucas Spence CF | HOU
Astros' Lucas Spence: Demoted to Triple-A
The Astros optioned Spence to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday.
Spence had already begun to cede more starts in center field to Taylor Trammell over the past week, and the rookie's playing-time outlook would have worsened had he stuck around after the Astros acquired Daulton Varsho on Monday. The Astros have thus elected to send Spence back to Sugar Land, where he'll get the chance to play regularly. During his first taste of the big leagues, Spence slashed just .162/.244/.189 with a 36.6 percent strikeout rate over 41 plate appearances.

LaMonte Wade Jr. LF | HOU
Astros' LaMonte Wade: Looks like odd man out of lineup
Wade is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.
Wade will take a seat for a second straight matchup versus a right-handed starting pitcher (Shane Bieber) and appears headed for a role reduction after the Astros bolstered their outfield by acquiring Daulton Varsho from the Blue Jays on Monday. Varsho will enter the lineup right away Monday, covering center field while Taylor Trammell and Cam Smith flank him in the corner spots. Since being reinstated from the injured list July 4, Wade is batting just .167 with one home run, 10 RBI and eight runs in 20 games.

Daulton Varsho CF | HOU
Astros' Daulton Varsho: Batting cleanup in Astros debut
Varsho will start in center field and bat cleanup in his Astros debut Monday versus the Blue Jays.
A little under two hours before Monday's trade deadline, the Astros acquired Varsho from the Blue Jays in exchange for right-hander Spencer Arrighetti (foot). Because the Astros are opening a three-game series in Toronto on Monday, Varsho didn't have to travel to meet up with his new team and will enter the starting nine right away. Manager Joe Espada told Chandler Rome of The Athletic prior to Monday's contest that he plans for Varsho to hit in the middle of the order while serving as the Astros' everyday center field.
