  • Jake McCarthy LF | COL

Rockies' Jake McCarthy: Supplies three hits

McCarthy went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-innings loss to the Rays.

McCarthy has started August hot, going 7-for-19 with three extra-base hits and five RBI over the first four games of the month. The outfielder is up to a .293 average and .825 OPS on the year while adding 11 home runs, 64 RBI, 52 runs scored, 23 doubles, seven triples and 17 stolen bases over 99 contests. McCarthy's spot at the top of the Rockies' lineup and his decent speed contributions have made him a quality depth outfielder in fantasy.

  • Mickey Moniak LF | COL

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Homers again Tuesday

Moniak went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-innings loss to the Rays.

Moniak signed a two-year contract extension earlier Tuesday, and then showed another example of why he's been worth the investment. The outfielder is on a surge since the All-Star break, going 15-for-54 (.278) with four homers and 14 RBI over his last 14 games. For the season, he's batting .278 with an .892 OPS, 19 homers, 52 RBI, 40 runs scored, 13 doubles, four triples and a stolen base over 76 contests. Moniak remains in a strong-side platoon role, but he's got some stability in a favorable hitting environment, which makes him an acceptable depth option in fantasy.

  • Rays' Chandler Simpson: Swipes 29th bag

Simpson went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 9-7 extra-innings win over the Rockies.

Simpson is closing in on his second straight 30-steal campaign. He's 29-for-40 on the basepaths in 2026, though he went 44-for-56 on stolen-base attempts over 109 games in 2025. Simpson has added a steady .299 batting average with a .687 OPS, 22 RBI, 46 runs scored, 11 doubles and three triples through 106 contests. The speedster remains in search of his first home run in the majors.

  • Brewers' Jackson Chourio: Launches 14th homer in win

Chourio went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Pirates.

After opening the night with a single, Chourio tied the game by taking Jared Jones deep for a solo homer in the third inning. He added an RBI single in his next trip to the plate to finish with his sixth three-hit game of the season. The long ball snapped a 25-game homer drought, though Chourio has continued to produce overall, reaching base safely in 15 of his last 16 games. Across 79 contests this season, he's slashing .280/.337/.468 with 14 home runs, 20 doubles, 44 RBI, 55 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.

  • White Sox's Braden Montgomery: Knocks in one

Montgomery went 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI on Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Montgomery was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to a skin infection, but after an additional team day off Monday, he was able to return to the lineup. He was one of the limited sources of offense for the White Sox, grounding out with runners on first and third in the sixth inning to knock in a run. Montgomery has performed well since the start of July, scoring 11 runs while driving in 12 across 26 games. He's hitting only .239 in that span, though he likely deserves better as he's maintained just an 18.6 percent strikeout rate over that same stretch.

  • Tyler O'Neill RF | BAL

Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: Smacks eighth homer off bench

O'Neill homered in his lone at-bat as a pinch hitter during Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Angels.

O'Neill gave the Orioles an insurance run in the eighth inning Tuesday. Baltimore traded away Taylor Ward on Monday, opening up plenty of reps in its outfield, and O'Neill is making a case in his part-time role for more playing time. He's batting .304 with six homers, two doubles and 10 RBI over his last 46 at-bats (19 games) since the start of July and is now slashing .213/.298/.388 with eight long balls, eight doubles and 18 RBI across 205 plate appearances for the season.

  • Jacob Melton LF | TB

Rays' Jacob Melton: Out with hamstring strain

Triple-A Durham placed Melton (hamstring) on the 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Melton left Durham's game against Gwinnett on Saturday due to what's since been diagnosed as a right hamstring strain, which will keep him sidelined for at least one week. However, the injury is not expected to be serious, per MLB.com. Melton is slashing .285/.381/.520 with five home runs, 12 doubles, 23 RBI and 23 stolen bases over 148 plate appearances for the Bulls this season.

  • Carson Benge RF | NYM

Mets' Carson Benge: Smacks homer against Cleveland

Benge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Guardians.

Benge gave the Mets some extra breathing room with a solo homer in the eighth inning, his 12th of the year and first since July 6 against the Athletics. The long ball extended Benge's on-base streak to nine games, and in that span he has gone 10-for-32 (.313) with one steal, two RBI and three extra-base hits.

  • Matt Shaw RF | CHC

Cubs' Matt Shaw: Resumes light hitting

The Cubs announced Monday that Shaw recently resumed light hitting while rehabbing his sprained left hand in Arizona, MLB.com reports.

Shaw has returned to Chicago to continue his recovery program, but it's unclear how close he might be to heading out on a minor-league rehab assignment. The 24-year-old appeared to have settled in as a near-everyday player before suffering the hand injury, and he should have a path to reclaiming a regular spot in the lineup once he's back to full strength after the Cubs made no major additions in the infield or outfield prior to Monday's trade deadline.

  • Ian Happ LF | CHC

Cubs' Ian Happ: Sitting against lefty

Happ isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers,

Manager Craig Counsell said Tuesday that Happ will see significantly less action against left-handers going forward, per Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com, as Happ has posted just a .530 OPS in 125 plate appearances while hitting right-handed this season. Southpaw Tarik Skubal will be making his Dodgers debut Tuesday, so Happ will retreat to the bench while Tyrone Taylor starts in left field in what will be his Cubs debut.
