  • Davis Martin SP | CHW

White Sox's Davis Martin: Early hook in no-decision

Martin did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Tigers, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out six over 4.1 scoreless innings.

Martin threw 43 of 70 pitches for strikes with 11 whiffs while keeping the Tigers off the board but departed before he could qualify for a potential win. The 29-year-old has been excellent while working on a limited workload in September, yielding just two earned runs through four outings this month while averaging just over 72 pitches per appearance in that span. He'll carry a 3.84 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 121:45 K:BB across a career-high 145.1 innings into his last matchup of the regular season at home against the Rockies next weekend.

  • Royals' Michael Wacha: Allows two runs in no-decision

Wacha did not factor into the decision Sunday against Pirates, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out five.

Wacha did a good job limiting damage Sunday, as he held Pittsburgh to just two runs despite issuing four walks, matching a season high. The veteran right-hander has been solid down the stretch, posting a 2.70 ERA over 37.2 innings in his last five outings. His ERA now sits at 3.33 on the season with a 1.11 WHIP and 154:53 K:BB. Wacha will likely make one more start this season, currently lined up to come at home against Cleveland.

  • Will Warren SP | NYY

Yankees' Will Warren: Runs into trouble in fifth frame

Warren allowed four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Warren was mostly cruising until getting into trouble in the fifth inning. He left a bases-loaded mess for Brent Headrick, who then served up a grand slam to Nolan Arenado. Warren hadn't been charged with more than three runs in any of his previous six outings, posting a 1.80 ERA over 30 innings in that span. For the season, he has a 4.02 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 151:54 K:BB through 152.1 innings over 31 games (29 starts). He's projected for one more regular-season start at home versus the Orioles.

  • Troy Melton SP | DET

Tigers' Troy Melton: Exits early with injury

Melton (undisclosed) exited his start Sunday against the White Sox in the fourth inning, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Melton left the game after he had allowed the White Sox to take a 3-0 lead on a two-out RBI double by Sam Antonacci, and he was replaced on the mound by Tyler Holton. Another run was charged to his ledger following his departure, so he ended his day having tossed 3.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four batters. It's unclear what injury Melton suffered, but more information on his status will likely come following the conclusion of Sunday's contest.

  • Gavin Williams SP | CLE

Guardians' Gavin Williams: Dominant effort in win

Williams breezed through seven scoreless frames, throwing 63 of 89 pitches for strikes with a whopping 21 whiffs. It continued a stellar September for the 27-year-old, who's yielded just four earned runs over four outings spanning 25 innings while logging three quality starts and racking up 40 punchouts. He's compiled a 3.63 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 244:57 K:BB across 181 innings this season and lines up for his final start of the regular season on the road against Kansas City next weekend.

  • Jacob deGrom SP | TEX

Rangers' Jacob deGrom: Shaky in 10th loss

DeGrom (11-10) took the loss Sunday against Toronto, striking out two while allowing three runs on five hits and four walks in 4.1 innings.

The veteran right-hander didn't have his best stuff on the mound, matching a season low in punchouts and issuing at least four free passes for the third time this year. It was deGrom's shortest outing since Aug. 25 against the White Sox, breaking up a four-start streak with at least five innings and two or fewer runs allowed. His final appearance of the regular season is set to come in Minnesota, with deGrom carrying a career-worst 3.86 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 196:43 K:BB over 158.2 innings as he searches for his fifth career 200-strikeout campaign.

Sandoval (1-7) took the loss against the Rays on Sunday, allowing five runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts over seven innings.

Sandoval was tagged for four runs in the first inning but still managed a season-high seven frames, throwing 69 of 94 pitches for strikes with 14 whiffs. It goes down as the southpaw's fifth straight loss, and he's yielded at least four runs in each of his four September outings. He owns a 5.15 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 67:31 K:BB across 64.2 innings this year and will make his final start of the regular season at home against the Cubs next weekend.

Rays' Griffin Jax: Goes five scoreless in win

Jax was spotted an early lead and ran with it despite throwing just 47 of 74 pitches for strikes. The 31-year-old has now logged consecutive scoreless efforts and owns a 3.57 ERA through four September outings despite yielding six earned runs in his return from the injured list Sep. 2. He'll carry a 3.62 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 115:35 K:BB across 109.1 innings this year into a final regular-season matchup at the Phillies next weekend.

  • Hunter Brown SP | HOU

Astros' Hunter Brown: Punches out 10 in gem

Brown took a no-decision Sunday against Atlanta, striking out 10 while allowing three hits and two walks in five scoreless innings.

Brown had Atlanta out of sorts, generating 18 whiffs en route to fanning double-digit hitters for a second consecutive start. The right-hander has now worked at least five innings while conceding fewer than three runs in six of his last nine outings since the beginning of August. He's set to wrap up his regular season against the division-rival Athletics in hitter-friendly Sacramento, where he'll bring a steady 3.26 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 120:51 K:BB over 102 innings.

  • Shane Baz SP | BAL

Orioles' Shane Baz: Poised to start Monday

Baz (elbow) is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

The right-hander was removed from his previous start Tuesday versus the Mets after being struck in the elbow by a comebacker, but he's ready to make his next turn through the rotation. Baz has surrendered eight runs on 13 hits with a 7:3 K:BB in his past two starts, which has inflated his season-long numbers to a 4.11 ERA and 1.35 WHIP through 30 starts.
