Jose Quintana SP | COL
Rockies' Jose Quintana: Rejoining rotation Saturday
The Rockies plan to activate Quintana (elbow) from the 60-day injured list to start Saturday's game against the Mariners in Colorado, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
After completing two rehab starts and checking out fine following his bullpen session Tuesday, Quintana has received the green light to make his first appearance for the Rockies since May 24. The veteran southpaw is likely to be operating with a limited workload Saturday, given that he built up to only 2.1 innings and 47 pitches during his rehab assignment. Prior to landing on the shelf due to a left elbow sprain, Quintana went 2-3 with a 5.27 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over 41 innings in nine starts.

Shane Drohan SP | MIL
Brewers' Shane Drohan: Works in relief again Friday
Drohan struck out two and allowed no hits and one walk over 1.2 scoreless innings of relief in Friday's 6-5 extra-inning victory over the Orioles.
After making starts in all but one of his 13 appearances from the start of June through Sept. 12, Drohan has now worked out of the bullpen in his last two outings. With the Brewers having pared down their rotation as the regular season winds down, Drohan is expected to continue prepping for a relief role heading into the playoffs.

Cesar Perdomo SP | SF
Giants' Cesar Perdomo: Takes no-decision
Perdomo allowed two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out one over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.
Perdomo was greeted by a Mookie Betts solo home run to lead off the bottom of the first inning, but the young southpaw otherwise put together a decent outing. It was a notable improvement after he gave up five runs over 4.2 innings in his previous start. Perdomo has a 3.72 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB through 19.1 innings over four games (three starts) in the majors. He's projected for one more start this year at home versus the Twins next week.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Strikes out 10 in win
Glasnow (5-1) allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out 10 over six innings to earn the win over the Giants on Friday.
Glasnow had given up eight runs over 10 innings in his first two starts of September, so this was a positive return to form. The right-hander also set a season high with the 10 strikeouts after racking up nine three times earlier in the campaign. He's at a 3.46 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 87:23 K:BB across 67.2 innings through 12 starts this season. Glasnow's last regular-season outing is projected to be a road rematch versus the Giants, assuming the Dodgers can cobble together enough arms to stay with a six-man rotation over the final week-plus.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Struggles early in loss
Rodriguez (15-7) allowed seven runs on five hits and four walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings to take the loss versus the Yankees on Friday.
Rodriguez faced some early resistence as the Yankees rattled off five runs in the first inning. He also surrendered solo home runs to Ben Rice and George Lombard before his exit. With a couple of crooked numbers going up over his last two starts, Rodriguez might be running out of magic after an impressive campaign. He's at a 2.89 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 140:62 K:BB through 183.2 innings over 31 starts this season. The southpaw is projected to make his last start of the regular season in Colorado.

Tyler Phillips SP | MIA
Marlins' Tyler Phillips: Another short start
Phillips allowed two hits and a walk while striking out three over 3.2 scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Friday.
Phillips put in a good performance but exited at 50 pitches (31 strikes). He's now at 122.2 innings this season -- he worked 155.1 frames in 2024 but just 77.2 innings as a reliever in 2025, so it's possible the Marlins are managing his workload a bit. The 28-year-old is now at a 3.45 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 99:52 K:BB over 36 appearances (19 starts) this year. He's tentatively projected for one more start in 2026, which is lined up to be on the road against the Cubs.
-
Nick Pivetta SP | SD
Padres' Nick Pivetta: Collects third win
Pivetta (3-2) allowed one run on four hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings to earn the win over the Marlins on Friday.
Pivetta has given up just three runs over 14 innings since he returned from a right flexor strain. The lone run on his line Friday came on an Agustin Ramirez homer in the third inning. Pivetta is at a 3.30 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 35:7 K:BB across 30 innings over seven starts in the majors this season. He is lined up to make his last regular-season start on the road versus the Dodgers next week.

Zach Thornton SP | NYM
Mets' Zac Thornton: Collects fifth win Friday
Thornton (5-5) earned the win against the Phillies on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four across six innings.
Thornton was handed an early three-run lead by his Mets teammates, and he proceeded to toss a quality start on only 87 pitches (59 strikes). The 24-year-old southpaw has given up two runs or fewer in four of his last five outings and now sits at a 3.40 ERA and 1.15 WHIP across 79.1 innings this season. Thornton made his major-league debut May 20 and has 13 big-league appearances under his belt. His next start, tentatively lined up for next week on the road against the Rangers, figures to be his final outing of the 2026 campaign.

Logan Webb SP | SF
Giants' Logan Webb: Placed on IL
The Giants placed Webb on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right middle finger blister, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Manager Tony Vitello said last weekend that the Giants would consider shutting Webb down after he allowed 16 earned runs in 13 innings over his last three starts. With the team out of the playoff chase and Webb now dealing with a blister, the 29-year-old's season will officially come to an early end. He'll finish 2026 with a 4.31 ERA -- his worst mark since 2020 -- and a 1.17 WHIP across 160.2 innings. Duncan Davitt was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Braxton Ashcraft SP | PIT
Pirates' Braxton Ashcraft: Return this season ruled out
Ashcraft (arm) played catch Friday but is not expected to return this season, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Ashcraft landed on the 15-day injured list last week with right arm discomfort. He received multiple medical opinions and his injury is not considered serious, but the Pirates will not push the right-hander to return before the end of the season. Ashcraft had a breakout year for Pittsburgh, logging a 3.65 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 173:35 K:BB over 165.1 innings covering 28 starts.
