Mariners' Randy Arozarena: Reaches 25-steal mark

George Kirby SP | SEA
Mariners' George Kirby: Struggles in last start of season
Kirby allowed four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Astros on Wednesday.
Kirby struggled down the stretch, allowing 31 runs (30 earned) with a 36:19 K:BB over his last 42.2 innings across eight starts. It was a tough year overall for the right-hander, who ends up with a 9-11 record, 4.33 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 148:47 K:BB through 174.2 innings over 30 starts. Those are career-worst marks across the board, with the 2.4 BB/9 standing out as particularly poor for a pitcher best known for his control.

Vaughn Grissom 1B | LAA
Angels' Vaughn Grissom: Knocks homer Wednesday
Grissom went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second RBI in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Athletics.
Grissom has homered twice over his last four games, a span in which he has also gone 7-for-16 at the plate. The infielder is batting .244 with a .706 OPS, 13 homers, 70 RBI, 46 runs scored, 22 doubles and a stolen base across 115 contests this season. He's put together a serviceable stat line while seeing steady playing time since late June.

Trent Grisham CF | NYY
Yankees' Trent Grisham: Takes live at-bats
Grisham (hamstring) took part in live batting practice Wednesday, MLB.com reports.
Grisham is said to be "pretty deep into his running progression," which is the most significant part of his recovery from a right hamstring strain. He's also been hitting and doing other baseball activities. Grisham has already been ruled out from returning to action during the regular season, but if he continues to progress, he could be activated at some point during the playoffs.

Mike Trout CF | LAA
Angels' Mike Trout: Clubs homer in loss
Trout went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Athletics.
Trout's up to 22 homers on the year, though he's hit just two over his last 39 contests. He's batting .273 in that span compared to .247 overall, so it appears he sacrificed a bit of power for more consistent contact in the second half of the campaign. Trout has added an .815 OPS, 54 RBI, 85 runs scored, 26 doubles and 11 stolen bases over 139 contests, his most games played in a campaign since he logged 140 in 2018.

Clarke Schmidt RP | NYY
Yankees' Clarke Schmidt: May be shut down
Schmidt could be shut down for the season if he's unable to pitch Thursday, MLB.com reports.
After completing his recovery from an internal brace procedure he underwent in July of 2025, Schmidt returned to the Yankees and pitched a scoreless two-thirds of an inning against Minnesota on Sept. 16. However, he suffered a biceps injury while warming up in the bullpen four days later. The right-hander reportedly had a "better" day Tuesday, but it's still unclear if he'll be able to return before the end of the season. Should Schmidt not be feeling well enough to pitch by Thursday, the Yankees may decide that he's better off being held out of pitching until 2027.

Walbert Urena SP | LAA
Angels' Walbert Urena: Sour finale to rookie year
Urena (9-11) allowed five runs on seven hits, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out two over four innings to take the loss versus the Athletics.
Urena mostly had a strong rookie season, but he ended it on a sour note with this start. This was just the third time all year he was tagged for five or more runs in a game. He ends his campaign at a 2.97 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 142:68 K:BB through 148.1 innings over 29 games (27 starts). Urena still has some room to grow, particularly when it comes to cutting back walks, but he was effective at limiting home runs (0.6 HR/9), which bodes well for the long run.

Athletics' Henry Bolte: Racks up four hits in win
Bolte went 4-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Angels.
This was Bolte's first multi-hit effort since Sept. 8 against the Blue Jays. He's been held hitless just twice in his last 16 games, going 18-for-58 (.310) in that span. The rookie outfielder has put together a fairly impressive campaign with a .279 average, .769 OPS, 11 home runs, 21 stolen bases, 36 RBI, 56 runs scored, 16 doubles and a triple over 115 contests.

The strong showing at the plate has him up to a .270 average and .735 OPS on the year, and he's added four home runs, two steals, 16 RBI, 29 runs scored, 20 doubles and a triple across 231 plate appearances.

Zack Gelof 3B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Adds pair of steals Wednesday
Gelof went 2-for-3 with a double, a hit-by-pitch, two stolen bases and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Angels.
Gelof logged his third multi-hit effort during a six-game hitting streak. The steals were his first since he swiped two bags Sept. 7 versus the Blue Jays. The 26-year-old continues to offer a little of everything, batting .256 with a .789 OPS, 20 home runs, 16 steals, 52 RBI, 72 runs scored, 16 doubles and two triples over 107 contests this season.
