Kyle Hurt RP | LAD
Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Rejoins big club
The Dodgers recalled Hurt from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
The right-hander spent the past couple weeks at Triple-A and will rejoin Los Angeles ahead of Sunday's series finale versus San Francisco. Hurt has made 43 appearances in the majors this year and has a 4.33 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 56:23 K:BB over 43.2 innings.

David Peterson SP | CHC
Cubs' David Peterson: Impressive again in ninth win
Peterson (9-8) earned the win Sunday over the Reds, allowing a run on three hits and a walk across six innings. He struck out seven.
Peterson has now turned in back-to-back quality starts while holding opponents to just three runs across 16.1 innings in his last three outings. The 31-year-old left-hander sports a 4.96 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 131:63 K:BB across 143.1 innings between the Cubs and Mets this year. Peterson will likely make one more regular-season start, currently slated to come next weekend in Boston.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Cubs' Alex Bregman: Struck by foul ball
Bregman was removed from Sunday's game against the Reds after being struck in the face by a foul ball while in the on-deck circle, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
A check swing by Michael Busch resulted in an unusual trajectory for the foul ball, and Bregman had minimal time to protect himself. The veteran third baseman immediately headed to the clubhouse and was replaced by a pinch hitter. According to Montemurro, Bregman had a laceration, a bloody nose and a swollen cheek. He was sent to the hospital to be evaluated further.

Kyle Karros 3B | COL
Rockies' Kyle Karros: Scratched with back spasms
Karros was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners due to back spasms.
Karros was penciled in at third base but will instead remain on the bench due to the back issue. He'll have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery. Connor Norby will shift to the hot corner while TJ Rumfield enters the lineup at first base.

Emmet Sheehan SP | LAD
Dodgers' Emmet Sheehan: Promoted, set to pitch Sunday
The Dodgers recalled Sheehan from Triple-A Oklahoma City, and manager Dave Roberts said the right-hander is scheduled to pitch behind opener Jack Dreyer against the Giants on Sunday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Sheehan made two starts for Los Angeles during the first half of September but was an unfortunate roster casualty despite allowing just one run with a 15:2 K:BB over 11.2 innings. The right-hander will now get another look in the majors, this time as a bulk reliever.

Tarik Skubal SP | LAD
Dodgers' Tarik Skubal: Headed to bereavement list
The Dodgers placed Skubal on the bereavement list Sunday.
The left-hander will step away from the team for a few days in order to handle a personal matter. Skubal pitched Saturday against the Giants, surrendering four runs over five innings but getting the win, and he should be back for his next turn through the rotation.

Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA
Marlins' Xavier Edwards: On bench Sunday
Edwards (thumb) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Edwards departed Saturday's game due to discomfort in his left thumb, which was initially checked out after he hit a foul ball. The 27-year-old returned from the injured list last weekend after missing two weeks due to a sprain in the same thumb, so he may have aggravated the injury. Javier Sanoja will shift to second base while Graham Pauley starts at the hot corner.
-
Nolan Gorman 3B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: On bench again Sunday
Gorman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
It's the fourth time Gorman has been absent from St. Louis' lineup in the past five games, with only one of those absences coming against a left-handed starting pitcher. The recent returns of JJ Wetherholt and Masyn Winn from injuries have resulted in Thomas Saggese pushing into the third-base mix alongside Jose Fermin, leaving little playing time for Gorman.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Receiving Sunday off
Swanson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.
The veteran shortstop started the first two games of the series after being reinstated from the injured list Friday, so this is likely just a rest day for him after he went 3-for-7 with a solo homer in those contests. Nico Hoerner is taking Swanson's place at shortstop, which opens up the keystone for Pedro Ramirez.
