Adrian Gonzalez is out of the Red Sox lineup on Saturday with back spasms, tweeted The Boston Globe's Pete Abraham. The injury occurred when Gonzalez bent over to say hello to a child at the mall.
The Red Sox are being cautious with Gonzalez, tweeted Comcast Sports Net's Sean McAdam. They don't want Gonzalez to end up on the DL.

Also of note, the Red Sox have sent infielder Mauro Gomez to Triple-A Pawtucket, as Clay Buchholz returns to the mound for Boston. Gomez was batting .308/.333/.423 in eight games.
