If Michael Sam plays a regular season snap in 2015, he'll likely be setting two NFL milestones. Not only would Sam be the league's first openly gay player, but he could also be the league's first openly gay married player.
Sam proposed to longtime boyfriend Vito Cammisano earlier this month while the two were on vacation in Italy.

Sam and Cammisano have been traveling in Europe since Dec. 30.

It appears that the question was popped in Rome sometime around Sam's 25th birthday, which was on Jan. 7.

Sam, the 2013 SEC co-defensive player of the year, was the 249th overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft. Sam was selected by the Rams and spent four months with the team before being released during final cuts on Aug. 30.
Four days after being cut by the Rams, Sam signed with the Cowboys. Sam spent about a month and a half on the Cowboys practice squad before being released on Oct. 21.
