Bears' Kevin Byard: Listed as limited again
Byard (ankle) is listed as limited on Thursday's estimated injury report.
Chicago didn't hold an on-field practice Thursday, but Byard appears to be progressing steadily after having also been listed as limited Wednesday. He played 100 percent of defensive snaps during the Bears' overtime win over Green Bay in Week 16. As long as Byard is able to get in at least limited practice reps again Friday, he'll have solid odds of gaining clearance for Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Bears' Kevin Byard: Limited with ankle issue
Byard (ankle ) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Byard played 100 percent of defensive snaps in last Saturday's overtime win over the Packers, so it is unclear when the starting safety sustained his ankle issue. Regardless of when it was sustained, the 32-year-old's ability to practice even in a limited capacity bodes well for his chances to suit up for Sunday night's game against the 49ers. Byard will have two more opportunities to increase his practice participation to full in hopes of dodging an injury designation ahead of Sunday's contest.

Bears' Kevin Byard: Posts season-high tackles
Byard recorded nine tackles, including five solo, in the Bears' 22-16 overtime win over the Packers on Saturday.
Byard delivered his highest tackle total of the season, surpassing his usual range of five to seven stops that he's posted in 11 contests. He also has six interceptions on the year, providing consistent splash-play upside from the secondary. The combination keeps him in the high-floor IDP tier.

Bears' Kevin Byard: Logs quiet tackle output Week 15
Byard totaled two tackles (both solo) in Sunday's 31-3 win over Cleveland.
Byard was part of a stifling Bears secondary that limited Shedeur Sanders to no touchdown tosses and picked off three passes, but the veteran safety posted a quiet stat line individually. His two tackles tied a season-low mark following a seven-game stretch during which he notched no fewer than five stops. Byard is still putting together an excellent campaign, as he leads the NFL with six interceptions.

Byard has between four and seven tackles in all but one contest this season, and he remains one of Chicago's most consistent defensive backs. With six interceptions on the year, he continues to profile as a high-floor IDP safety who adds reliable big-play ability.

Bears' Kevin Byard: Another fine game in win
Byard recorded six tackles (four solo) during Friday's 24-15 win at Philadelphia.
After Friday's contest, Byard has now collected exactly six tackles in four of his last seven games. He's doing enough to keep up a near every-down role at safety, but his per-snap production has lagged compared to last season, keeping him off the IDP radar in most formats.

Byard registered six tackles (five solo) during the Bears' 24-20 win over the Giants on Sunday.

Bears' Kevin Byard: Good to go
Byard (back/ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Giants.
The starting free safety was able to log a limited practice Thursday and a full practice Friday in preparation for Sunday's contest. Byard logged 67 defensive snaps in Week 9 against the Bengals, contributing five solo tackles to the Bears' victory. The 32-year-old's stint on the injury report was short, popping up Wednesday and being cleared Friday as he looks to once again be an every-down contributor for the Bears defense.

Byard (back/ankle) was limited in practice Thursday.
Byard sat out Wednesday's practice entirely, so it's encouraging to see the starting safety now taking limited reps Thursday. He's been an every-down contributor on defense through eight regular-season appearances.
