  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Makes three catches in loss

Lazard caught three of five targets for 39 yards in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Patriots.

Lazard finished nine receiving yards shy of Garrett Wilson's team-best total while tying Tyler Conklin for second behind Wilson in both targets and catches. Despite being locked in as the Jets' No. 2 wide receiver, Lazard has failed to reach 50 yards in a game heading into a Week 4 home game against the Chiefs.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Catches two passes in Week 2

Lazard caught two of four targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Cowboys.

Lazard finished third on the team in both targets and receiving yards behind Garrett Wilson (undisclosed) and tight end Tyler Conklin. Wilson provided most of New York's offense with a 68-yard touchdown catch and is expected to be available in Week 3 against the Patriots after having the wind knocked out of him late in the game. While Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) has a history of keeping numerous receivers fantasy-relevant simultaneously, the same can't be said of Zach Wilson, so Lazard's role as a starter on the outside won't necessarily earn him significant target volume or fantasy production.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Two catches after Rodgers injury

Lazard caught two of four targets for 46 yards in Monday's 22-16 overtime win over the Bills.

Lazard's decision to join the Jets in the offseason was undoubtedly influenced by the then-impending arrival of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but the former Packers teammates played just four snaps together before Rodgers suffered what is feared to be a season-ending Achilles injury. Lazard went on to lead the team in receiving yards as backup Zach Wilson threw for 140 yards in a win fueled by the defense's four forced Josh Allen turnovers. Lazard is locked into a starting role on the outside heading into a Week 2 trip to Dallas, but that prominent usage is much less exciting with Wilson throwing the ball rather than Rodgers.

  • Jets' Allen Lazard: Avoids Week 1 injury report

Lazard (shoulder) wasn't listed Thursday on the Jets' first Week 1 injury report, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Lazard thus looks to be in the clear to serve as one of the Jets' starting receivers in Monday's season opener versus Buffalo. Though Lazard will be making his Jets debut in Week 1, he should be in store for a fairly seamless transition. In addition to making the jump from Green Bay to New York with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Lazard will be reunited with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, who directed the Packers offense from 2019 through 2021. Second-year wideout Garrett Wilson will represent the Jets' No. 1 option in the passing game, but Lazard's skills as a blocker and familiarity with Rodgers should ensure him a near-every down role on offense.
