Packers' Bo Melton: Finds new home
Melton was signed to the Packers' 53-man roster from the Seahawks' practice squad Tuesday.
Melton was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 draft, and he was unable to break camp with Seattle's active roster. However, he did land a spot on the team's practice squad, where he has remained since Aug. 31. He'll now get a chance with the Packers and potentially play Sunday against the Vikings.

The Seahawks signed Melton to their practice squad Wednesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Melton failed to land a spot on the Seahawks' initial 53-man roster, which included six wideouts. The rookie seventh-round pick secured seven of 15 targets for 89 yards across three preseason games and will start his NFL career on the practice squad.

Seahawks' Bo Melton: One catch in preseason loss
Melton caught his lone target for a 24-yard gain in Friday's 27-26 preseason loss to the Cowboys. He also rushed once for six yards.
Melton finished his first NFL preseason with seven catches (15 targets) for 89 yards through three games. The seventh-round pick was an interesting prospect, as he ran a 4.34 40-yard dash after starring in a sluggish Rutgers offense. Melton has shown an ability to get yards after the catch, but he hasn't done enough this preseason to guarantee himself a spot on the 53-man roster.

Seahawks' Bo Melton: Four short catches
Melton caught four of 11 targets for 18 yards in Thursday's 27-11 preseason loss to the Bears.
Melton led all Seahawks wide receivers in targets and offensive snaps (47). He didn't prove much with the opportunity, though the quarterbacks completed just 51 percent of their passes in the exhibition game. Melton led the team with 47 receiving yards in the preseason opener, so he's set up well to secure a final spot on the 53-man roster if he can finish training camp strong.

Seahawks' Bo Melton: Paces team in receiving yards
Melton caught two of three targets for 47 yards in Saturday's 32-25 preseason loss to the Steelers.
With DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Freddie Swain (back) and Dee Eskridge (hamstring) sitting out, Melton had a good opportunity to serve as the team's top wide receiver. He played half of the offensive snaps in the exhibition game and led the team in receiving yards. Most of his yardage came on the first play of the second half when he took a short pass from Drew Lock and showcased his speed for a 39-yard gain. Melton is making a strong case for a roster spot and will take this momentum into Thursday's preseason clash against the Bears.

Seahawks' Bo Melton: Back at practice
Melton (hamstring) participated in Thursday's practice session, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Melton was limited by a hamstring injury to close out voluntary OTAs in early June, but he appears to have moved past the issue now that training camp is underway. The 23-year-old will compete for a spot on the 53-man roster ahead of the regular season.

Coach Pete Carroll said Thursday that Melton has been dealing with a hamstring injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
The Seahawks wrapped up voluntary OTAs on Thursday, but the 2022 seventh-rounder was limited by his hamstring issue. Melton is competing for a spot on Seattle's 53-man roster during the offseason, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for mandatory minicamp next week.

Seahawks' Bo Melton: Heads west to Seattle
The Seahawks selected Melton in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 229th overall.
A five-year receiver at Rutgers, Melton's stat lines are unconvincing at face value. However, he was the motor of an otherwise putrid Scarlet Knights offense. He stacked up 1,250 receiving yards over his final two seasons while Rutgers' offense finished with just 4,027 passing yards in that span. Melton answered the call at the NFL Combine, too, recording a 4.34 40-yard dash and a 38-inch vertical at 5-foot-11, 189 pounds. Still, his best path to the field will be through special teams, as DK Metcalf (foot) and Tyler Lockett are the clear alpha wideouts in what is shaping up to be a run-heavy offense.
