Lions' Roger McCreary: Cleared to play in Week 8
McCreary (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
McCreary wasn't listed on the injury report Wednesday or Thursday but practiced in a limited capacity Friday. As a result, the 26-year-old was listed as questionable for the divisional showdown with Minnesota, though he has since been cleared to suit up. McCreary has appeared in all six of Detroit's regular-season games in 2026, amassing 22 total tackles (17 solo), 1.0 sacks and one forced fumble.

McCreary (foot) is questionable for Sunday's Week 8 matchup against Minnesota.
McCreary appears to have gotten hurt during practice late in the week, as he wasn't listed on the injury report Wednesday or Thursday. Now that he's been tagged with a designation of questionable, the veteran cornerback's status for Sunday is up in the air. McCreary has logged every Lions defensive snap in each of his past three games, but if he's out against the Vikings, Christian Izien could take on a starting role.

Lions' Roger McCreary: Inks deal with Detroit
McCreary and the Lions agreed to terms on a one-year contract Friday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
McCreary opened the 2025 season with the Titans before being traded to the Rams in late October. He missed four games while on injured reserve due to a hip injury and finished the regular season with 37 tackles (23 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and two pass defenses (one interception) across 14 games. McCreary operated mostly in a rotational role in the secondary for the Rams and figures to reprise that same role with the Lions while also contributing on special teams.
