The first game of this season's CFP is an SEC rematch between Alabama and Oklahoma. The Sooners made the field with a 10-2 record thanks to winning their last four games, one of which was over the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa. The Tide are 10-3 and are coming off a blowout loss in the SEC Championship Game to Georgia. When these teams last squared off, it seemed like the Tide would be able to pull off the victory as they outgained 406-212, but Oklahoma's defense forced three turnovers, which proved to be the deciding factor in a 23-21 Sooners upset. The game this time is in Norman, and as a result, the Sooners are slight favorites over a Crimson Tide team that is trying to shake off its poor showing in the SEC title game. The SportsLine Projection Model, which simulates every college football game 10,000 times, has Oklahoma winning in 52% of its simulations.

In the NBA, we have a rematch of last year's Western Conference Finals on Friday with the Oklahoma City Thunder visiting the Minnesota Timberwolves. OKC took that series 4-1 en route to an NBA Finals win over Indiana, and the Thunder are off to a ridiculous 25-2 start to the season in their bid to repeat as champs. Minnesota enters Friday 17-10 and having won seven of its last 10, though the team is coming off a six-point loss to Memphis on Wednesday.
