  • Trevor Rogers SP | BAL

Orioles' Trevor Rogers: Fans 10 in tough loss Saturday

Rogers (10-11) took the loss Saturday as the Orioles fell 1-0 to the Brewers, allowing one run on three hits and one walk over eight innings. He struck out 10.

A Joey Ortiz triple in the second inning led to the only offense in the game, as Rogers came out on the wrong end of the decision despite delivering one of his best performances of the season. The lefty tossed 72 of 99 pitches for strikes in his 15th quality start of the year, eight of which have come in 12 outings since the All-Star break. He's produced a 3.58 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and dazzling 84:8 K:BB in 75.1 innings during that second-half stretch. Rogers will wrap up his regular season with a road start next weekend against the Yankees.

  • Jose Soriano SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Jose Soriano: Hit hard in eighth loss

Soriano (12-8) took the loss Saturday against Texas, striking out eight while allowing six runs (five earned) on four hits and one walk in five innings.

Hard contact hurt Soriano, who surrendered three extra-base hits (one home run) on the evening. The eight strikeouts were his most in a Blue Jays uniform, but the right-hander has now given up at least three runs in six of his last seven starts. He has a 4.73 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 40:16 K:BB over 51.1 innings for Toronto, and what could be his final appearance of 2026 lines up to come at home against the Reds.

  • Sean Burke SP | CHW

White Sox's Sean Burke: Six strong innings in win No. 10

Burke (10-7) notched the win Saturday against Detroit, striking out five while allowing one run on five hits and three walks in six innings.

The Tigers scratched a run across in the fifth inning, but that was all they would muster in the scoring department for the afternoon. Burke has now worked at least five innings while giving up fewer than two runs in three of his last four outings in September, though he did surrender a staggering seven runs in the other appearance. He'll bring a 3.40 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 178:61 K:BB over 167 innings into his next scheduled start against the lowly Rockies, which figures to be his final showing of the regular season.

  • George Klassen SP | LAA

Angels' George Klassen: Unlikely to return this season

Angels manager Kurt Suzuki said Saturday that Klassen (back) is unlikely to return this season, Jack Janes of TheSportingTribune.com reports.

While Klassen's bullpen sessions have been going well, the Angels have no reason to rush him back at this stage. Klassen made four starts in August in his return to the big club, posting an encouraging 2.01 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 22.1 innings. He should compete for a spot in the starting rotation in spring training, health permitting.

  • Payton Tolle SP | BOS

Red Sox's Payton Tolle: Pushed back to next week

Tolle no longer appears in line for a start this weekend in Tampa Bay, as the Red Sox are listing Patrick Sandoval as their probable starter for Sunday's game.

As Rob Bradford of WEEI.com points out, Boston appears to be lining Tolle up to start Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series. It's a tough blow for Tolle's fantasy managers, as they will take a zero from the lefty this week. He struck out seven over six scoreless innings against Kansas City in his last start Sept. 13, lowering his ERA to 3.02 over 143 innings this season.

  • Jackson Jobe SP | DET

Tigers' Jackson Jobe: Keeps missing bats but takes loss

Jobe (2-3) allowed three runs on four hits across six innings to take the loss in Saturday's 3-1 defeat to the White Sox. He walked one and struck out nine.

After registering a career-high eight strikeouts in his last outing, Jobe wasted little time setting a new high-water mark. The young righty simply didn't receive enough run support and was outdueled by Chicago's Sean Burke, but it was still another promising outing. Jobe has mostly looked good since making his season debut in August following about a year on the shelf due to Tommy John surgery, and he now has a 3.98 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 43 strikeouts across 40.2 innings this season. The 24-year-old is scheduled to make one more 2026 start against the Pirates, and then he'll turn his attention toward 2027, which could be a breakout campaign now that Jobe is fully healthy and starting to figure things out at the MLB level.

  • Trey Yesavage SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Trey Yesavage: Returning Monday

Yesavage (knee) is scheduled to be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to start Monday's game against the Orioles, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Yesavage has been out since August after undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, and although he made just one rehab appearance at Triple-A Buffalo that lasted two-thirds of an inning, he's been cleared to help the Jays cross the finish line of the 2026 season. His first start back isn't expected to last very long, however, as the Blue Jays are hoping to get roughly three innings out of him (45-to-50 pitches) before handing the ball to Spencer Miles. Yesavage will then be tentatively lined up to make one final start next weekend against the Reds, during which he could have a larger workload.

  • Cade Povich SP | BAL

Orioles' Cade Povich: Sent down to Norfolk

The Orioles optioned Povich to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

After giving up three earned runs in just 3.2 innings during his start against the Brewers on Friday, Povich will be sent back down to Triple-A to make room for Felix Bautista (shoulder), who returned from the 60-day IL on Saturday. Unless Povich returns to Baltimore as an injury replacement, he will finish the 2026 campaign with a 4.38 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 28:15 K:BB across 37 MLB innings.

  • Cade Povich SP | BAL

Orioles' Cade Povich: Short outing in return to majors

Povich didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Brewers, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out three.

All three runs came on a Jackson Chourio homer in the second inning, but Pete Alonso tied it up with his own long ball in the next frame, and Povich avoided any other damage over 71 pitches (41 strikes). The southpaw has bounced between the big-league and Triple-A rotations all season, and over eight outings (seven starts) for Baltimore he's managed a 4.38 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 28:15 K:BB in 37 innings. Povich will likely get one more start in the majors before the end of the regular season as the O's fight to stay in the wild-card race, and he's scheduled for a home outing next week against one of the teams currently ahead of them, the Blue Jays.

  • Randy Dobnak SP | KC

Royals' Randy Dobnak: Early exit in Friday's no-decision

Dobnak didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Pirates, giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out one.

The right-hander needed 74 pitches (46 strikes) to record 11 outs in his shortest outing of the season. Dobnak appears to be running out of steam, and over his last five starts he's stumbled to a 5.60 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB through 27.1 innings while serving up five homers, including a two-run shot by Brandon Lowe on Friday. Dobnak will look to wrap up his campaign in style, as he's set to face the White Sox at home next week.
