JR Ritchie SP | ATL
Braves' JR Ritchie: Summoned from Triple-A for start
Atlanta recalled Ritchie from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.
He's slated to start Wednesday's game against the Cubs, and with Reynaldo Lopez (shoulder) landing on the 15-day injured list and AJ Smith-Shawver demoted to the bullpen, Ritchie is a good bet to make additional starts down the stretch. The rookie hurler had been on a roll at Gwinnett, authoring a 2.14 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB in 33.2 innings across his last six starts. Ritchie has logged a 4.50 ERA and 53:36 K:BB over 58 frames covering eight starts and six relief outings with the big club.

Kyle Harrison SP | MIL
Brewers' Kyle Harrison: Struggles in first relief appearance
Harrison failed to record an out and was charged with four earned runs on four hits in a relief appearance in Saturday's 13-9 win over the Reds.
After Harrison was lit up for 15 runs (13 earned) in his prior two starts, Brewers manager Pat Murphy elected to shift the left-hander to a relief role with the hope that the change would provide a needed reset. Though Harrison's velocity ticked back up Saturday, his command was still lacking, as he gave up a double and three base hits on 17 pitches before Murphy lifted him from the game. Per Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Murphy expressed optimism after the game that Harrison would be able to bounce back from his recent rough patch, but the southpaw's recent form makes it unlikely that he'll resurface in the rotation in the near future.

Justin Wrobleski SP | LAD
Dodgers' Justin Wrobleski: Works in bullpen over weekend
Wrobleski struck out a batter and allowed two hits and one walk over two scoreless innings of relief in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins.
After making his previous appearance as a starter Sept. 6 versus the Nationals, Wrobleski shifted back to the bullpen for the Dodgers' weekend series in Miami. He ended up being called upon Saturday in relief of starter Tyler Glasnow, who was chased after yielding four runs across four innings. Assuming the Dodgers elect to maintain a six-man rotation through the end of the season, Wrobleski could have a chance to start or pitch bulk innings again next weekend versus the Giants. The Dodgers reopened a rotation spot after optioning Emmet Sheehan to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Rockies' Jose Quintana: Completes second rehab appearance
Quintana (elbow) struck out a batter and allowed three earned runs on five hits and no walks across 2.1 innings Sunday in a rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque.
Making the second appearance of his rehab assignment, Quintana tossed 47 pitches (32 strikes). The Rockies could have Quintana continue building up over one more rehab start before bringing him back from the 60-day injured list at some point during the final week of the season. Before hitting the shelf May 25 due to a left elbow sprain, Quintana went 2-3 with a 5.27 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over nine starts with Colorado.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: On track to start Tuesday
Freeland (neck) will be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday's game against the Padres at Coors Field, MLB.com reports.
On the shelf since Aug. 24 due to cervical radiculopathy, Freeland has been cleared to rejoin the Rockies rotation after striking out five over three no-hit innings during his lone rehab start with Double-A Hartford last Wednesday. Given that the 33-year-old southpaw tossed just 47 pitches in his rehab start, he'll likely be operating with a restricted workload Tuesday. After the upcoming outing versus the Padres, Freeland will line up for just one more start this season before heading into unrestricted free agency this offseason.

Sandy Alcantara SP | MIA
Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Allows four runs in no-decision
Alcantara did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits, two walks and a hit-by-pitch over five innings against Arizona. He struck out six.
Alcantara was hampered by a three-run third inning that included a two-run homer from Lars Nootbaar. The veteran hurler has allowed four-plus runs in four straight starts and hasn't earned a win since Aug. 8. With a 13-10 record, 3.86 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 149:57 K:BB over 205 innings (32 starts), Alcantara is tentatively scheduled to pitch Sunday at San Diego.

Corbin Burnes SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Corbin Burnes: Allows five runs in no-decision
Burnes did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing five runs on five hits and no walks over 4.2 innings against the Marlins. He struck out four.
Burnes wasn't particularly effective, notably surrendering back-to-back homers in the fourth inning. It was a step back for the right-hander, as he twirled three shutout innings in his season debut last week against the Royals after completing his recovery from Tommy John surgery and a teres major strain. Burnes built up to 75 pitches (48 strikes) in his home debut Monday. The 31-year-old's next start is tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Yankees.

Tomoyuki Sugano SP | COL
Rockies' Tomoyuki Sugano: Tagged for six runs in 10th loss
Sugano (12-10) took the loss Monday, allowing six runs on eight hits and one walk over five innings against the Padres. He struck out two.
Sugano was tagged for all six runs in the first three frames, including two homers, resulting in his fifth loss over his past six outings. On the year, the right-hander owns a 5.49 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 86:34 K:BB in 142.2 innings (27 starts). Sugano's next start is lined up to come against the Mariners over the weekend.

Casey Mize SP | SD
Padres' Casey Mize: Picks up sixth win
Mize (6-9) earned the win Monday, allowing two runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings against the Rockies. He did not record a strikeout.
Mize permitted plenty of traffic on the bases but ultimately limited the damage enough at Coors Field to pick up the win. The right-hander has struggled since joining the Padres, posting a 5.97 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 22:12 K:BB in 37.2 innings (eight starts) with his new team. With an overall 3.69 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 107:31 K:BB across 124.1 innings (24 starts), Mize is tentatively scheduled to pitch Saturday against the Marlins.

Nick Lodolo SP | CIN
Reds' Nick Lodolo: Hurt by long ball in fifth loss
Lodolo (3-5) took the loss Monday against the Dodgers, striking out four while allowing four runs on three hits and four walks in seven innings.
Lodolo gave the Reds length but was hit hard when contact was made, serving up a pair of home runs on the evening. It was the longest outing of the season for the southpaw, who has issued multiple free passes in six straight starts and nine of his last 10. He'll take a disappointing 5.12 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 79:42 K:BB over 96.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance against the division-rival Cubs.
