  • Pelicans' Herbert Jones: Barely sees floor in loss

Jones supplied two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal over 16 minutes during Saturday's 141-135 overtime loss to the Nuggets.

Jones continues to play a minimal role, having logged no more than 18 minutes in any game thus far this season. Once seen as a key piece for the Pelicans, it would appear as though he is now on the outside looking in when it comes to meaningful minutes. While he can be viewed as a steals specialist, the fact of the matter is that he is averaging only 0.7 steals per game to this point.

  • Jordan Poole PG | NO

Pelicans' Jordan Poole: Muted role continues

Poole supplied six points (2-6 FG, 2-5 3Pt), three rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal over 22 minutes during Saturday's 141-135 overtime loss to Denver.

Poole saw 22 minutes off the bench, continuing to play a modest role for the Pelicans. Through three games, he has averaged 7.3 points and 4.0 assists in 18.8 minutes per game. It appears as though he is going to be saddled to the bench a lot, making him a non-factor in standard fantasy leagues.

  • Pelicans' DeAndre Jordan: Flirts with double-double

Jordan finished with nine points (3-3 FG, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block across 20 minutes during Saturday's 141-135 overtime loss to the Nuggets.

Jordan was inserted into the starting lineup after Yves Missi was ruled out with a knee injury. At this point in his career, Jordan is mostly a locker room guy, seeing the floor on rare occasions. New Orleans plays Denver again Wednesday, and Jordan could once again find himself in the rotation, assuming Missi is ruled out. If that is the case, Jordan could be utilized for streaming purposes.

  • Gui Santos SF | GS

Warriors' Gui Santos: Doesn't return Saturday

Santos exited Saturday's 131-122 loss to the Suns with an undisclosed injury and did not return, Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reports.

Santos limped to the locker room during the third quarter, ending his evening with seven points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-8 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one turnover across 23 minutes. For now, Santos should be considered questionable for Monday's game in Denver.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Scores 26 points with four treys

Murphy notched 26 points (10-17 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Saturday's 141-135 overtime loss to the Nuggets.

Murphy had scored just 20 points total in the two games prior, but he did a much better job of asserting himself offensively Saturday night. However, the Pelicans couldn't capitalize on his performance, surrendering a 23-point lead to fall to 0-3 to begin the 2026-27 season.

  • Jamal Murray PG | DEN

Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Pours in 42 points in overtime win

Murray accumulated 42 points (12-25 FG, 8-16 3Pt, 10-13 FT), three rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal across 43 minutes during Saturday's 141-135 overtime win over the Pelicans.

Murray was held to just six points on 2-for-11 shooting in the Nuggets' season-opening loss to the Thunder, but he was nothing short of spectacular Saturday evening, helping his team erase a 23-point deficit. Murray also finished without committing a single turnover in his 43 minutes of floor time, putting a bow on an absolute masterpiece.

  • Devin Booker SG | PHO

Suns' Devin Booker: Drops in 43 points in win

Booker put up 43 points (17-25 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, one block and four turnovers across 36 minutes in Saturday's 131-122 win over the Warriors.

Booker did a nice job of orchestrating the Suns' offense, and he got whatever he wanted against the Warriors' B Team. He's off to a hot start this season, but will face a tough test against Oklahoma City's defense Monday.

  • Reed Sheppard SG | HOU

Rockets' Reed Sheppard: Nets 19 points with seven assists

Sheppard totaled 19 points (7-13 FG, 5-11 3Pt), six rebounds, seven assists, two steals and three turnovers across 30 minutes in Saturday's 121-114 win over the Hawks.

With Saturday's game being the second of a back-to-back set, Fred VanVleet (knee) was given a maintenance day, allowing Sheppard to move into the first unit. He took full advantage of the increased opportunity, finishing as Houston's second-leading scorer while pouring in a game-high five triples. As good as he was, he'll likely shift back to a reserve role for Monday's rematch with Atlanta, with VanVleet expected to return.

  • Jalen Johnson PF | ATL

Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Ties career high in loss

Johnson contributed 26 points (8-19 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 16 assists, nine rebounds and two steals across 38 minutes in Saturday's 121-114 loss to the Rockets.

After providing a full stat line in Friday's win over Charlotte, Johnson stuffed the stat sheet once again in the second half of this back-to-back set. The star forward recorded game highs in scoring and assists, dishing out a career-high-tying 16 dimes. The 24-year-old also led the Hawks in rebounds. He's posted at least 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists in all three of his regular-season appearances to begin the campaign.

  • Naji Marshall SG | DAL

Mavericks' Naji Marshall: Logs five assists in spot start

Marshall posted 10 points (4-8 FG, 1-1 3PT, 1-3 FT), five assists, four rebounds and one steal over 21 minutes during Saturday's 122-106 loss to the Spurs.

Marshall finished Saturday's game tied with both Walter Clayton and Marcus Sasser for the most assists on the Mavericks. It was Marshall's first start of the season, but he may move back to a bench role Monday against the Heat if Kyrie Irving (knee/rest) is cleared to return.
