Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Double-doubles with two blocks
Rotowire
Wembanyama produced 25 points (9-21 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 32 minutes during Friday's 114-110 loss to the Rockets.
After going 1-for-13 from the floor in the Spurs' season-opening loss to the Thunder, Wembanyama was better against the Rockets, but he still struggled with his shot. Still, came through with the blocks and pulled down double-digit rebounds for the second straight game, so he still had a fine game statistically. Wembanyama's shooting percentages will catch up with him soon enough, so we wouldn't panic after a semi-slow start to the season.

Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Struggles with shot in loss
Rotowire
Wembanyama registered 12 points (1-13 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 10-12 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, six blocks and one steal over 34 minutes during Tuesday's 116-104 loss to the Thunder.
Wembanyama had a night to forget offensively, going ice cold from the field and missing his first 12 shots. He scored only on an alley-oop from Fox as time expired in the third quarter. He still led San Antonio in rebounds and blocks and went 10-of-12 from the line to reach double figures. Wembanyama will look for a bounce-back when he faces Houston in Austin on Friday.
Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Scores 14 points to end preseason
Rotowire
Wembanyama ended with 14 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks across 17 minutes in Friday's 126-97 preseason win over Sacramento.
Wembanyama had his third consecutive double-digit preseason scoring performance Friday. He finished the preseason by averaging 13.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.3 steals over 19.8 minutes per contest. The 22-year-old should have plenty of motivation after the Spurs were defeated by the Knicks in the 2026 NBA Finals, so there's a good chance his name will be mentioned often in MVP conversations throughout the 2026-27 campaign.
Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Scores 19 points Wednesday
Rotowire
Wembanyama finished with 19 points (9-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, three assists, two steals and four blocks across 23 minutes in Wednesday's 123-103 preseason win over Phoenix.
Wembanyama appeared in his third preseason game. While the 22-year-old played better Wednesday than he did in the other two contests, it still wasn't his best showing. Wembanyama hasn't shot the ball well throughout the preseason, though he should warm up at some point soon. The 2023 No. 1 overall pick is coming off his best campaign, averaging 25.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 3.1 blocks and 1.0 steals over 29.2 minutes per contest. However, he was limited to just 64 regular-season games after appearing in 46 in 2024-25.
