DeVonta Smith's highly-anticipated debut with the Philadelphia Eagles lived up to the hype.

Smith matched a feat only DeSean Jackson accomplished in Eagles history, tying Jackson for the most catches in franchise history for a player in his first career game (six). He's the first player in Eagles history to record five catches and a touchdown in his first career game.

Smith finished with six catches for 71 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 32-6 win over the Atlanta Falcons, leading all receivers in yards and tying for the game lead in catches (Jalen Reagor also had six receptions). In Smith's mind, he did what a first-round pick should do -- not really reflecting on the significance of his accomplishments.

"It hadn't hit me yet, honestly," Smith said after the game. "In the moment (of the touchdown), I was still getting into it -- knowing I still have a task at hand. It hadn't hit me yet."

Smith's touchdown catch was the first reception of his NFL career, an 18-yard pass from Jalen Hurts for the Eagles' first touchdown of the season. He's the first Eagles player with a receiving touchdown in his NFL debut since Tony Stewart in 2001 and the first Eagles receiver to have his first career catch for a touchdown since Marvin Hargrove in 1990 (Cris Carter was the other in 1987).

Smith wouldn't reflect on his performance, nor did he know where the game ball he scored his first career touchdown went. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner didn't seem to worry about that, joking the ball will find him -- just like it does during the game.

"We'll enjoy this for 24 hours and move on to the next week," Smith said. "It's just Round 1. We got 16 more to go."
