  • 49ers' Mike Evans: Remains sidelined at practice

Evans (ribs) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Evans thus will have just one more chance to mix into drills Friday before the 49ers potentially make a ruling on his status ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos. If Evans ends up being inhibited or sidelined this weekend, Deebo Samuel and Brandin Cooks represent the notable names that remain healthy in San Francisco's WR corps.

  • 49ers' Mike Evans: Working on side field Thursday

Evans (ribs) was working on the side during Thursday's practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Evans made an early exit from the 49ers' Week 3 win against the Cardinals due to a strained rib, which held him out of drills Wednesday and is threatening to do so one day later. Thursday's practice report will reveal if he was able to mix into any drills at all.

  • 49ers' Mike Evans: No practice Wednesday

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Evans (ribs) won't practice Wednesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Evans was laboring after taking a big hit from Cardinals safety Budda Baker in the second quarter of this past Sunday's win against Arizona, eventually being ruled out due to a rib injury. Afterward, Evans was diagnosed with a strained rib, but Shanahan also relayed to Vic Tafur of The Athletic on Wednesday that the wide receiver "may" practice later this week. Logging some on-field work Thursday and/or Friday seemingly will give Evans a chance to play Week 4 against the Broncos, but his upcoming availability remains up in the air.

  • 49ers' Mike Evans: Day-to-day with rib strain

Evans is considered day-to-day after sustaining a rib strain during Sunday's 36-30 win over the Cardinals, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Following his early exit from Sunday's game, Evans underwent a full evaluation Monday that revealed no significant injury. Even so, Evans' practice participation in Week 4 could be affected as the 49ers prepare for a matchup next Sunday against the Broncos. With four receivers already on injured reserve, the 49ers can ill afford an absence from Evans, who has recorded 12 catches for 137 yards and two touchdowns on 16 targets through the club's first three games.

  • 49ers' Mike Evans: Dealing with rib/oblique injury

Evans has a rib/oblique injury, head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed after Sunday's 36-30 win over the Cardinals, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.

Evans was ruled out of the game due to a rib injury after absorbing a big hit, but it sounds like the veteran wide receiver is also dealing with an oblique injury. Further clarification on Evans' status will surface before the 3-0 49ers host the Broncos in Week 4.

Evans was knocked from the 49ers' Week 3 matchup after taking a hit to the midsection from Arizona safety Budda Baker in the second quarter and eventually was ruled out.
