Panthers' Mike Jackson: Undergoes surgery
Head coach Dave Canales said Wednesday that Jackson (groin) underwent core-muscle surgery and will be sidelined about eight weeks, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
The Panthers are in a code-red situation at cornerback after both starters, Jackson and Jaycee Horn (quadriceps), suffered significant injuries against Cleveland in Week 3. Ahead of a date with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams on national television Sunday night, Carolina will be relying on Will Lee, Akayleb Evans and Chau Smith-Wade to cover the snaps.

Panthers' Mike Jackson: Sent to injured reserve
The Panthers placed Jackson (groin) on injured reserve Wednesday.
Jackson was injured in Sunday's loss to the Browns, and will now miss at least the next four weeks. Carolina's secondary took a number of big hits in the injury department versus Cleveland, as Jaycee Horn suffered a torn quadriceps and will be out 6-to-12 weeks. Will Lee, Akayleb Evans and Chau Smith-Wade will handle cornerback duties for the foreseeable future.

Panthers' Mike Jackson: Won't return due to groin injury
Jackson (groin) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Browns, Kassidy Hill of the Panthers' official site reports.
Jackson sustained the injury in the first quarter, and he will be on the sidelines for the rest of Sunday's game after being evaluated by medical staff. Rookie fourth-rounder Will Lee will see more work at outside corner in Jackson's absence.

Panthers' Mike Jackson: Takes another step in 2025
Jackson tallied 68 total tackles (54 solo), 19 passes defensed, including four interceptions, and one forced fumble across 17 regular-season games in 2025.
Jackson was incredible during the Panthers' wild-card loss to the Rams on Saturday, recording four passes defensed, including an interception that helped set up a Carolina touchdown in the third quarter. The Miami product has been one of the NFL's top corners since joining the Panthers in 2024, recording 144 total tackles and 36 passes defensed (most in the NFL), including six interceptions, over 34 regular-season games. Having signed a two-year, $10.5 million extension with Carolina last offseason, Jackson is expected to start opposite Jaycee Horn to form one of the league's premier outside cornerback duos during the 2026 season.
