Young injured his foot last November while making his first career start. The injury required surgery and landed the rookie on IR. Now healthy and going into his second season, Young will likely provide depth at offensive tackle for the Saints in 2022.

Young's move to IR comes after it was reported Tuesday that he was expected to undergo season-ending surgery. He had just made his first career start Sunday against the Panthers. The rookie will now set his sights on earning a role with the Saints in 2022.

Young (foot) is expected to undergo season-ending surgery, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Young made his first NFL start Sunday against the Eagles and played 98 percent of the snaps, despite the injury. The 2021 sixth-round selection will now turn his focus to being ready for the 2022 season, while the Saints figure out how to deal with another injury to their offensive line.
