  • Panthers' Jeremy Chinn: Participating in offseason workouts

Chinn (ankle) was back in action during the Panthers' offseason OTAs, Nick Carbonie of WCNC Charlotte reports.

Chinn missed the Panthers' season finale last year due to an ankle injury, but he appears to be good to go heading into the 2022 campaign. The 2020 second-round pick led Carolina in tackles for a second consecutive season in 2021 and is poised to be a top-IDP option during his third year in the NFL.

  • Panthers' Jeremy Chinn: Leads Carolina in tackles

Chinn (ankle) finished the 2021 season with 107 tackles (75 solo), one interception on five passes defended, one sack, one fumble forced and one fumble recovery in 16 games played.

Chinn missed Carolina's season finale with an ankle injury, but that absence didn't prevent him from finishing as the team's leading tackler. In fact, Chinn has accomplished that feat in both seasons since entering the league as second-round pick in 2020. The Southern Illinois product's versatility makes him a unique asset in coordinator Phil Snow's defense, and the latter recently left open the possibility that Chinn plays linebacker next season, Joseph Person of The Athletic reports. While being deployed there would figure to get Chinn closer to the line of scrimmage more consistently -- potentially boosting his tackling upside -- the 23-year-old has proven plenty effective wherever he's been deployed through his first couple campaigns.
