  • Bears' D'Andre Swift: DNP due to knee injury

Swift didn't participate in Thursday's practice due to a knee injury.

After the Bears held a walkthrough Wednesday, Swift wasn't included on the team's first Week 4 injury report, so his addition to it one day later could mean he sustained the issue on the practice field. In any case, his status now will be monitored closely to get a sense of his odds to suit up Sunday versus the Jets. If Swift isn't able to go or is at all inhibited, fellow RB Kyle Monangai could be in line for a significant boost in touches and snaps.

  • Bears' Caleb Williams: Another DNP on Thursday

Williams (hamstring) remained a non-participant at practice Thursday.

Williams didn't participate in Wednesday's walkthrough, and he unsurprisingly remained sidelined Thursday when the Bears held a full practice. The 2024 first overall pick is expected to miss a second consecutive game Sunday against the Jets due to a Grade 2 right hamstring strain, which typically carries a multi-week recovery timeline. Chicago has yet to announce a starter for Sunday's game, with Tyson Bagent and Week 3 starter Case Keenum both in the running.

  • Bears' Dillon Thieneman: Logs first INT in NFL career

Thieneman registered six tackles (four solo) and an interception during the Bears' 27-7 win over the Eagles on Sunday.

Thieneman picked off Andy Dalton on a pass intended for Dontayvion Wicks in the end zone, and the Bears' offense capitalized on the turnover with an 11-play, 69-yard drive that ended with a 29-yard field goal by Cairo Santos to extend Chicago's lead to 10-0. Thieneman has played every single defensive snap through the first three regular-season games of his NFL career, and his 15 solo tackles are tied for seventh-most in the league.

  • Bears' Braxton Jones: Week-to-week with knee injury

Jones is week-to-week with a knee injury, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.

Jones exited the Bears' Monday night win over the Eagles early with a knee injury. After extensive evaluation, it has been determined that Jones will need to miss at least a week, if not longer, with the injury. Ozzy Trapilo or Theo Benedet will likely start at left tackle for Sunday's game against the Jets.

  • Bears' Kyler Gordon: No limitations in walkthrough

Gordon (calf) was estimated as a full participant on the Bears' official injury report Wednesday.

Since he began the regular season on Chicago's reserve/PUP list, Gordon won't be eligible to suit up for game action again until Week 5 at Green Bay. With that said, his current availability at practice is a strong indication he's on track to do just that. His status will be worth monitoring until he is officially activated.

  • Bears' Kyler Gordon: Cleared to return to practice

The Bears designated Gordon (calf) for return to practice from their reserve/PUP list Wednesday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.

The move opens a 21-day window during which Chicago can officially activate Gordon before they'd have to shut him down for the rest of the year. The first game he will be eligible to suit up for will be the Bears' matchup at Green Bay in Week 5.

  • Bears' Caleb Williams: Missing Wednesday's walkthrough

Coach Ben Johnson said Williams is "getting better every singly day" but won't participate in Wednesday's walkthrough, Sean Hammond of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Williams exited a Week 2 loss to the Vikings in the fourth quarter due to a hamstring injury. He was considered week-to-week by Johnson afterward and then didn't practice at all before being ruled out for Monday's game against the Eagles. On Sunday, Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport of ESPN reported that Williams was diagnosed with a Grade 2 right hamstring strain, which is considered to be a 3-to-4-week injury. Johnson told Chris Emma of 670TheScore.com on Wednesday that "the direction has already been made" as it pertains to a Week 4 starting QB this Sunday versus the Jets, but who that may be between Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent isn't known.
