Fantasy Tutorial: Right on schedule in Week 7
Sometimes the most interesting games on the schedule don't always translate to Fantasy production. As Michael Hurcomb writes in his Fantasy Tutorial, high octane offenses like Texas Tech and Notre Dame might meet their match in Week 7.
ACC
Notes: Miami (Fla.) wide receiver Aldarius Johnson injured his arm in the first quarter Saturday against
Florida A&M. He remains questionable for Week 7 against UCF. Hurricanes
running back Graig Cooper missed the
FAMU game with a lower-body injury and is also questionable for this
week ... Virginia running back Mikell Simpson
might have had a career game with his four-touchdown performance
Saturday against Indiana, but it was overshadowed by the fact Simpson
had to be carted off the field with a neck injury. He has been released
from the hospital, but his status for Week 7 remains unknown. Torrey Mack will likely start if Simpson can't go ... Duke quarterback Thaddeus Lewis passed for a career-high 495 yards and five touchdowns in
a win over N.C. State on Saturday. Lewis has passed for 818 yards and
seven touchdowns in his last two games without throwing an interception.
He has put to bed all the talk of being supplanted at quarterback by
Sean Renfree ... Thanks to Riley Skinner's
recent surge in the passing game, Wake Forest has three receivers with
at least 20 catches and 300 yards -- Marshall Williams, Chris Givens and Devon Brown. Both Williams and Givens have five touchdowns.
Byes:
Florida State, Duke, North Carolina
Teams playing FCS schools: None
Favorable
matchup: Boston College vs. N.C. State. The Wolfpack's great start
to the season has been wiped away thanks to three poor defensive efforts
in a row. N.C. State has allowed each of its last three opponents to
break 30 points, with Duke doing a number in Week 6. The Blue Devils
scored 49 points and totaled 502 yards. Boston College is coming off a
tough loss to Virginia Tech and will be looking to take out their
frustrations on N.C. State.
Unfavorable matchup: Georgia Tech
vs. Virginia Tech. The Hokies have been on a mission since losing to
Alabama in the opener. They have reeled off five straight wins and have
looked impressive in the process. They have allowed just one opponent
since Alabama to score more than 15 points and are allowing just 123.8
rushing yards per game (48th). The Hokies held Georgia Tech to 17 points
and 278 rushing yards last season, so they know how to slow down the
triple-option. The Yellow Jackets will not be in a shootout like
Saturday against FSU.
Big East
Notes: Connecticut quarterback Zach Frazer has finally recovered from a knee sprain and has been
cleared to play. However, he was in a backup role to Cody Endres during Saturday's loss against Pittsburgh and the
Huskies will likely wait until the end of the week to name their starter
for Saturday against Louisville ... Pittsburgh quarterback Bill Stull has managed to throw for at least two touchdowns in five
of six games this season ... Pittsburgh wide receiver Jonathan Baldwin has quietly recorded a touchdown in three straight
games and has 100 yards in three of four. He was just two yards short of
100 against N.C. State a few weeks back or it would be four straight ...
Rutgers running back Joe Martinek has
two straight games with two rushing touchdowns and has broken 100 yards
in two of three contests ... Louisville wide receiver Scott Long totaled five catches for 146 yards and one touchdown
Saturday against Southern Miss. He is the Cardinals leading receiver
with 23 catches for 410 yards.
Byes: Syracuse
Teams
playing FCS schools: None
Favorable matchup: West Virginia
vs. Marshall. The Mountaineers fared pretty well against the Thundering
Herd last season. Although they only managed 27 points, West Virginia
posted 493 yards. Marshall is allowing 22.8 points per game (47th),
however, they are giving up 391.7 yards per contest (90th). West
Virginia is 16th in total offense (449.2 ypg), so they should be able to
move the ball.
Unfavorable matchup: Cincinnati at South
Florida. The way the Bearcats have started the season it is hard to go
against them, but we're talking Fantasy and South Florida has one heck
of a defense. The Bulls are fifth in scoring (9.4 ppg) and 10th in total
defense (263.0 ypg). This will be their toughest challenge to date, but
USF can really get after the quarterback. They held quarterback Tony Pike to just 281 yards last season and Cincinnati managed only
24 points.
Big 12
Notes: Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford was a little sluggish off the bat in his first start
back from a shoulder injury Saturday against Baylor, but once Bradford
got rolling he looked like his old self. Bradford passed for 389 yards
and is ready for the Longhorns on Saturday ... Bradford could be getting
one of his top targets back in wide receiver Ryan Broyles, who missed Week 6 with a shoulder injury. Broyles was
expected to miss a month after injuring his shoulder in Week 5, but head
coach Bob Stoops said he might be back against Texas ... Baylor
quarterback Blake Szymasnki came off the bench last week against
Oklahoma after missing one game with a shoulder injury. He is expected
to replace Nick Florence as the starter
Saturday against Iowa State ... Colorado head coach Dan Hawkins has
benched his son, Cody, at quarterback and replaced him with Tyler Hansen, who is expected to start the remainder of the season
... Iowa State running back Alexander Robinson
is expected to play through nagging groin and shoulder injuries Saturday
against Baylor ... Kansas running back Jake Sharp
missed a second straight game in Week 6 against Iowa State with a calf
injury. He remains questionable for Saturday against Colorado ... Kansas
State running back Daniel Thomas is
questionable for Week 7 against Texas A&M after banging up his knee
Saturday against Texas Tech. If he can't go, Keithen Valentine is likely to start ... Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert sprained his knee in a Week 6 loss to Nebraska.
However, he has returned to practice and coach Gary Pinkel is expecting
him to play Saturday against Oklahoma State ... Nebraska running back Roy Helu banged up his shoulder last week against Missouri, but is
expected to remain in the lineup in Week 7 against Texas Tech ...
Oklahoma State running back Kendall Hunter,
who has missed three games with a leg injury, remains questionable for
Week 7 against Missouri ... Texas freshman running back Tre' Newton suffered a concussion in Week 6 against Colorado and is
questionable for Week 7 against Oklahoma ... There is still no word on
the status of Texas Tech quarterback Taylor Potts,
who sat out Saturday against Kansas State with a concussion. However,
all signs point to Steven Sheffield
getting the start in Week 7 against Nebraska after his seven-touchdown
performance against the Wildcats.
Byes: None
Teams
playing FCS schools: None
Favorable matchup: Kansas at
Colorado. As long as the Jayhawks can survive the thin air of Colorado,
the potential for them to post serious numbers is there. The Buffs rank
85th in total defense (389.6 ypg) and 96th in scoring defense (30.0).
Kansas broke 30 points against Colorado last season, so they have the
game plan to defeat the Buffaloes.
Unfavorable matchup: Texas
Tech at Nebraska. This is clearly an unpopular pick seeing how Texas
Tech is historically one of the most Fantasy-friendly teams in the
nation. However, the Cornhuskers might have the talent on defense to
slow down the Red Raiders. No one has scored more than 16 points on
Nebraska this season. They rank second in scoring defense (8.0 ppg) and
13th in total defense (273.4 ypg). Even with Graham Harrell under center
for Tech last season, the Red Raiders amassed just 284 passing yards.
Big Ten
Notes: Illinois tight end Michael Hoomanawanui sat out Week 6 against Michigan State with a
sprained ankle. He is questionable for Week 7 against Indiana ...
Hoomanawanui's injury is not Illinois' only problem. They are unsettled
at quarterback after the Eddie McGee
experiment tanked Saturday against the Spartans. Coach Ron Zook will now
wait to decide whether McGee or former starter Juice Williams will be under center in Week 7 ... Indiana running
back Darius Willis sat out Week 6 with
a sprained ankle. He is questionable for Week 7 against Illinois ...
Michigan State is dealing with a plethora of injury concerns. Running
back Glenn Winston is out for the year
after needing season-ending knee surgery. Fellow running back Larry Caper also left Saturday's game against Illinois with a knee
injury, but his is less severe and Caper should play in Week 7 against
Northwestern. So should quarterback Kirk Cousins,
who sat out Saturday with an ankle injury. He is expected to replace Keith Nichol, who is questionable for Week 7 with an elbow injury ...
Michigan running back Carlos Brown sat
out Week 6 against Iowa with a concussion. He remains questionable for
Week 7 against Delaware State. Brandon Minor
will once again see the bulk of carries if Brown is unavailable ...
Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez said quarterback Tate Forcier will keep his starting job once he is healthy. Already
battling a shoulder injury, Forcier suffered a concussion against Iowa. Denard Robinson would start in Week 7 if Forcier needs time off ...
Purdue wide receivers Keith Smith and Aaron Valentin are quietly becoming viable Fantasy options. Smith has
reeled off three straight 100-yard outings. He leads Purdue with 42
catches and 585 yards. Smith also has four touchdowns. Valentin leads
Purdue with five receiving scores, while recording 29 catches for 356
yards ... Indiana wide receiver Tandon Doss
has a team-high 41 catches for 546 yards. Unfortunately, his lack of
touchdowns (one) is holding him back in Fantasy ... Iowa tight end Tony Moeaki was finally back in the lineup in Week 6 against
Michigan after missing three games with an injury. He looked 100 percent
with six catches for 105 yards and two scores. Moeaki has the potential
to be a top Fantasy tight end when healthy.
Byes: None
Teams
playing FCS schools: Michigan (vs. Delaware State)
Favorable
matchup: Illinois at Indiana. Take your pick in this matchup.
Neither team has played well defensively this season or offensively for
that matter. It could end up being a high-scoring affair because a
struggling offense usually wins the matchup against a struggling defense.
Unfavorable
matchup: Purdue vs. Ohio State. The Boilermakers might get the
Buckeyes on their home turf, but that doesn't mean Ohio State will leave
its vaunted defense at home. Ohio State is seventh in scoring (12.0 ppg)
and 11th in total defense (271.8 ypg). The Buckeyes held Purdue to three
points and 298 yards last season.
Conference USA
Notes: Memphis quarterback Tyler Bass was out in Week 6 with a shoulder injury. He is
questionable for Week 7 against Southern Miss. Will Hudgens will likely start again if Bass is out ... Memphis
running back Curtis Steele showed
against UTEP on Saturday that he is fully recovered from a knee injury
that kept him out for two games. Steele rushed for 240 yards and two
touchdowns. Steele can do some serious damage for Fantasy owners, so
consider adding him to your roster ... Tulane running back Andre Anderson suffered a minor shoulder injury in Week 6 against
Marshall, but he remained in the game and is expected to play in Week 7
against Houston ... UAB wide receiver Frantrell Forrest is expected to return to action in Week 7 against Ole
Miss after missing one game with a knee injury ... Move over Tyron Carrier. Houston has a new leading receiver -- James Cleveland. The Iowa transfer has managed two straight games
with 10-plus catches, 100-plus yards and two touchdowns. He now leads
Houston with 41 catches, 443 yards and five touchdowns. Add Cleveland in
all Fantasy formats ... SMU wide receiver Aldrick Robinson has been a huge Fantasy disappointment this season
largely in part to being hobbled by an ankle injury. But he showed in
Week 6 against East Carolina that he might be ready to come out of his
shell. He hauled in four catches for 125 yards, which included a 96-yard
touchdown ... UTEP wide receiver Jeff Moturi
seems to have passed Kris Adams again
as the Miners top receiver. He has 11 catches for 245 yards and two
touchdowns in his last two games.
Byes: UTEP
Teams
playing FCS schools: None
Favorable matchup: Southern Miss
vs. Memphis. Despite getting a plethora of FBS transfers, the Memphis
defense still is having its problems in 2009. They have held just one
opponent to less than 20 points and are allowing 412.5 yards per game
(105th). Southern Miss posted 30 points and 416 yards against Memphis
last season, so they should be able to move the ball again in this
matchup.
Unfavorable matchup: UAB at Mississippi. The Blazers
make the trip to SEC country to face the Rebels. While the Ole Miss
offense has been a work in progress, the defense hasn't had many issues.
Ole Miss is ninth in scoring defense (13.0 ppg) and 24th in total
defense (290.0 ypg).
Independents
Notes: Navy fullback Alexander Teich was unavailable for Week 6 against Rice because of knee
and ankle injuries. His status for Week 7 against SMU remains up in the
air. Vince Murray will likely start
again in Teich's absence ... Notre Dame fullback James Aldridge appears ready to return in Week 7 against USC after
missing the last four games with a shoulder injury ... Army freshman
quarterback Trent Steelman seems to
finally be settling into the starting role. He has rushed for 90-plus
yards and one score in each of the last two weeks ... Navy quarterback Ricky Dobbs had a huge game against Rice on Saturday. He rushed for
104 yards and four touchdowns. His backup, Kriss Proctor, also did well in mop-up duty. Proctor rushed for three
touchdowns on 14 carries. Navy rolled up 471 rushing yards and nine
rushing touchdowns as 14 players totaled at least one carry.
Byes: None
Teams
playing FCS schools: None
Favorable matchup: Navy at SMU.
The Mustangs continue to have issues on defense under coach June Jones.
They are among the worst teams in the country in both total (391.8 ypg)
and scoring defense (29.2 ppg). We saw what Navy did to one C-USA team
last week. They should have another successful game in Week 7.
Unfavorable
matchup: Notre Dame vs. Southern Cal. The Irish are led by Heisman
candidate Jimmy Clausen and have one of
the best passing offenses in the country (322.0 ypg), but they will be
tested against USC. The Trojans are solid on defense, allowing just
238.6 yards (6th) and 8.6 points per game (4th). Notre Dame managed just
three points and 91 yards against a similar USC defense in 2008.
MAC
Notes: Already down Chris Jacquemain
to a suspension, Akron lost another starting quarterback in Matt Rodgers to a knee injury Saturday against Ohio. He is out
indefinitely and will be replaced by Patrick Nicely under center ... Toledo got some good news after
quarterback Aaron Opelt left Saturday's
game against Western Michigan with a shoulder injury. An MRI revealed no
significant damage and coach Tim Beckman has listed Opelt as probable
for Saturday against Northern Illinois. If he can't go, Austin Dantin will likely be under center ... Bowling Green's Freddie Barnes had a game for the ages in Week 6 against Kent State. He
caught 22 passes for 278 yards and three touchdowns. Barnes already has
75 catches for 722 yards and five touchdowns. Even though teams know
Barnes is getting the ball, they just can't stop him ... Western
Michigan finally had their breakout game of the year after battling
mediocrity in the early part of the season. They dropped 58 points and
534 yards of offense on Toledo. Quarterback Tim Hiller passed for 270 yards and three touchdowns, while running
back Brandon West had 153 rushing yards
and three scores.
Byes: None
Teams playing FCS schools: None
Favorable
matchup: Northern Illinois at Toledo. Tim Beckman came to Toledo
with a resume filled with defensive accomplishments. Thus far, he has
yet to whip the Rockets defense into shape. Toledo is 119th in both
scoring (41.2 ppg) and total defense (454.0 ypg). Northern Illinois is
averaging 31.6 points per game (35th) and should be able to keep that
average up in Week 7.
Unfavorable matchup: Western Michigan
vs. Central Michigan. We laud the Broncos for finally having their
breakout performance in Week 6, but they could go back to struggling in
Week 7 against the Chippewas. Central Michigan has been very good
defensively in 2009. They are allowing just 14.6 points (15th) and 297.3
yards per game (26th).
Mountain West
Notes: Air Force quarterback Tim Jefferson has missed the last three games with an ankle injury.
Head coach Troy Calhoun said he would like to see Jefferson have a full
week of practice before inserting him back into the lineup ... New
Mexico starting running back Demond Dennis
sat out Week 6 against Wyoming with an undisclosed injury. The freshman
had started every game up until that point. New Mexico is on a bye, so
Dennis gets an extra week to rest ... Wyoming freshman running back
Alvester Anderson has emerged as the team's top tailback. He has 285
yards and five touchdowns ... Utah running back Eddie Wide has been an ample replacement for Matt Asiata, who is out for the season with a knee injury. Wide has
rushed for 100 yards in two straight games and is averaging 6.2 yards
per carry in that span ... Colorado State wide receiver Dion Morton has a touchdown in four straight games ... TCU wide
receiver Jimmy Young finally had his
breakout game of the season Saturday against Air Force. He totaled six
catches for 113 yards after having just seven catches for 148 yards in
his first four games ... UNLV wide receiver Rodelin Anthony returned to the lineup in Week 6 against BYU after
missing two games with a concussion. He got right back to work with four
catches for 59 yards and one score. Anthony has four touchdowns in four
games.
Byes: New Mexico
Teams playing FCS schools: None
Favorable
matchup: Utah at UNLV. How do you not like this matchup? The Rebels
have allowed a total of 1,384 yards and 122 points in their last two
games. Utah rolled up 42 points and 440 yards against UNLV last season,
so they have the formula to cruise against the Rebels.
Unfavorable
matchup: Colorado State at TCU. The Rams don't have fond memories of
their 2008 defeat against the Horned Frogs. Colorado State scored just
one touchdown and managed 11 yards on the ground. The matchup isn't
easier a year later as TCU is seventh in total defense (249.2 ypg) and
17th in scoring defense (15.2 ppg).
Pac-10
Notes: Arizona State wide receiver Kerry Taylor tweaked his groin leading up to Week 6 against
Washington State and had to sit out. He remains questionable for Week 7
against Washington ... Cal wide receiver Nyan Boateng, who has missed the last two games with a fractured
foot, has been upgraded to questionable for Week 7 against UCLA ... The
USC receiving corps is expected to receive a real boost this week
against Notre Dame. Ronald Johnson, who
has been out since the preseason with a broken collarbone, has returned
to practice and is on track to make his debut in Week 7 ... UCLA leading
rusher Johnathan Franklin is
questionable for Week 7 after tweaking his ankle in Week 6 against
Oregon. Christian Ramirez and Damien Thigpen could pick up the slack if Franklin is out ...
Washington wide receiver D'Andre Goodwin
did not play against Arizona on Saturday after suffering a concussion
the previous week against Notre Dame. His status remains in question for
Week 7 at Arizona State ... Arizona State wide receiver Kyle Williams had a career-high 13 receptions for 126 yards and one
touchdown against Washington State in Week 6. It was his second 100-yard
game of the season ... Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers shredded Stanford for 271 total yards (189 rushing) and
four touchdowns on Saturday ... Arizona running backs Nic Grigsby (shoulder) and Keola Antolin
(ankle) are still hobbled by injuries. Greg Nwoko
is expected to see the bulk of carries until both players are back at
100 percent ... Arizona wide receiver David Roberts had a breakout game with 12 catches for 138 yards and
one touchdown on Saturday against Washington. He leads the Wildcats with
22 catches for 257 yards.
Byes: Oregon, Oregon State,
Washington State
Teams playing FCS schools: None
Favorable
matchup: Southern Cal at Notre Dame. The Trojans make the trek to
South Bend, Ind., for their annual rivalry game with the Fighting Irish.
While the USC offense might not be as impressive as past seasons, they
still rank 22nd in total offense (430.6 ypg). They now face the nation's
100th ranked total defense (403.2 ypg). Notre Dame has allowed three of
their last four opponents to break 30 points.
Unfavorable matchup: Cal
at UCLA. The Bears have totaled just two field goals in their last two
games and it doesn't get any easier in Week 7 against the Bruins. UCLA
is 21st in total defense (285.6 ypg) and 25th in scoring defense (17.2
ppg). Cal isn't facing the same team they dropped 41 points on last
season.
SEC
Notes: A game that started well didn't end as such for
Arkansas running back Michael Smith on
Saturday against Auburn. While he burned the Tigers for a season-high
145 rushing yards, Smith left the game in the second half with a
hamstring injury and is questionable for Week 7 against Florida. If he
can't go, Ronnie Wingo and Knile Davis will pace the rushing attack ... Georgia running back Caleb King sustained a concussion and a fractured jaw in Week 6
against Tennessee. His status is unknown for Week 7 against Vanderbilt,
but you probably want to start healthier alternatives ... Kentucky lost
starting quarterback Mike Hartline for
the year after he tore his MCL on Saturday against South Carolina. Head
coach Rich Brooks will wait until later in the week to name Will Fidler or Morgan Newton as
Hartline's replacement ... South Carolina tight end Weslye Saunders missed Week 6 against Kentucky with an ankle injury
and remains questionable for Week 7 against Alabama ... Tennessee wide
receiver Brandon Warren has been
dismissed from the football team after a heated disagreement with the
wide receivers coach Frank Wilson during a loss to Auburn two weeks ago
... Vanderbilt running back Jared Hawkins
is back on the sidelines with a foot injury that has plagued him since
preseason camp. The good news for Vandy is that freshman Zac Stacy is nearing 100 percent after being hobbled by an ankle
sprain. He is probable for the Georgia game ... Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton passed for a career-high 310 yards on Saturday against
Georgia. He also threw for four touchdowns ... Tennessee wide receiver Gerald Jones finally seems past all his injury woes. He is starting to
get into a rhythm as he has 12 catches for 180 yards and two touchdowns
in his last two games ... South Carolina true freshman receiver Alshon Jeffery had his breakout game against Kentucky on Saturday. He
totaled seven catches for 138 yards and three touchdowns. Jeffery has
the talent to be South Carolina's next great receiver following in the
footsteps of Troy Williamson, Sidney Rice and Kenny McKinley ... Alabama
running back Mark Ingram is up to 14th
in country in rushing (109.8 ypg) and has scored a touchdown in all six
games. He has seven total. Ingram has filled in nicely for the graduated
Glen Coffee.
Byes: Tennessee, LSU
Teams playing FCS
schools: None
Favorable matchup: Mississippi vs. UAB. The
Rebels need a confidence booster after struggling the last three weeks
against South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Alabama. They should get it at
home Saturday against UAB. The Blazers are allowing 31.8 points (104th)
and 453.6 yards per game (112th).
Unfavorable matchup: South
Carolina at Alabama. South Carolina has crept into the top 25 thanks to
four straight wins -- three coming in the SEC. But they will get a real
test at Alabama in Week 7. The Crimson Tide have been filthy on defense
in 2009. They rank second in total (220.5 ypg) and eighth in scoring
defense (12.5 ppg). Alabama has held three opponents to seven points or
less.
Sun Belt
Notes: Florida Atlantic tight end Jamari Grant is questionable for Week 7 with an ankle injury ... FIU
wide receiver Greg Ellingson totaled
five catches for 132 yards and one touchdown Saturday against Western
Kentucky. He has 11 catches for 198 yards and two touchdowns in his last
two games and is becoming a perfect complement to T.Y. Hilton in the receiving game ... North Texas running back Lance Dunbar totaled 187 rushing yards and four touchdowns on
Saturday against La.-Lafayette. Dunbar was filling in for the injured Cam Montgomery, who dressed but did not play because of a nagging
hamstring injury.
Byes: None
Teams playing FCS schools: None
Favorable
matchup: Florida Atlantic at North Texas. Here is another game where
both teams should have a good day offensively. Both FAU and North Texas
are two of the worst defenses in the country. FAU is allowing 36 points
per game (114th) and North Texas is at 33.8 ppg (107th).
Unfavorable
matchup: La.-Monroe vs. Arkansas State. The Red Wolves are coming
off a bye and will be well rested for the Warhawks. Arkansas State has
been battle tested this season against Nebraska, Troy and Iowa, so they
should be ready to face La.-Monroe.
WAC
Notes: Louisiana Tech running back Daniel Porter tweaked his hamstring in Week 6 against Nevada. He is
questionable for Week 7 against New Mexico State. If he can't play, Myke Compton will start in his absence ... Nevada running back Vai Taua was back in the lineup against Louisiana Tech after
missing one game with an elbow injury. He rushed for 107 yards ... After
a slow start to the season, Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick is finally living up to his Fantasy potential. He
has 636 total yards and seven touchdowns in his last two games ... Utah
State running back Robert Turbin had a
career-high 184 yards in Week 6 against New Mexico State ... Once Ryan
Mathews has used up his eligibility, Fresno State has another home-run
back waiting in the wings. Freshman Robbie Rouse
has 297 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries this season. He
is averaging 8.7 yards every time he touches the football.
Byes: None
Teams
playing FCS schools: None
Favorable matchup: Idaho vs.
Hawaii. Don't sleep on the Vandals, who are 5-1 on the season. Idaho has
done a good job moving the ball in 2009. They are 22nd in passing
offense (265.0 ypg) and 31st in total offense (421.2 ypg). They welcome
in Hawaii in Week 7. Warriors head coach Greg McMackin is a defensive
coach by trade, but Hawaii hasn't been able to stop many teams this
season. They are allowing 402.8 yards (99th) and 28.6 points (91st) per
game.
Unfavorable matchup: Boise State at Tulsa. By the
numbers, the Golden Hurricanes could pose a problem for the Broncos.
They are 21st in scoring defense (16.2 ppg) and 27th in total defense
(299.2 ypg).
