Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Won't debut Week 5
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that Charbonnet (knee) won't be activated from the PUP list in advance of Sunday's game against the 49ers, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Seattle opened Charbonnet's 21-day practice window last Thursday, with the running back practicing on a limited basis for the team's final two sessions of Week 4 in what amounted to his first involvement in on-field drills since he tore the ACL in his left knee Jan. 17. Macdonald noted that Charbonnet will take another step forward in Week 5 by getting "team reps" in practices, but the 25-year-old looks like he'll still need some additional time after that to fully ramp up before making his 2026 debut. With rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price (chest) going on injured reserve this past Saturday, Emanuel Wilson took over as the Seahawks' lead back in the Week 4 win over the Chargers, finishing with 120 yards from scrimmage on 24 touches. Wilson will likely continue to carry the load out of the Seattle backfield until Charbonnet is activated.

Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Limited in both practices this week
Charbonnet (knee) was a limited practice participant Thursday and Friday, John Boyle of seahawks.com reports.
With Charbonnet still on the reserve/PUP list after being designated to return to practice Thursday, he remains ineligible for Week 4. Jadarian Price (chest) is also out for Seattle, leaving Emanuel Wilson and George Holani as the team's main RBs for a home game against the Chargers on Sunday.

Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Return window opens Thursday
Charbonnet (knee) was designated to return to practice Thursday.
Thursday's move opens the 21-day window for Charbonnet to resume practicing, during which he can be added to the active roster. Charbonnet is ineligible to play against the Chargers on Sunday after being placed on the reserve/PUP list to begin the season, but he could suit up as soon as Week 5 against the 49ers if added to the roster. Jadarian Price (chest), Emanuel Wilson and George Holani (ribs) have held the fort at running back while Charbonnet works his way back from a torn ACL sustained last postseason.

Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Chance to practice Thursday
Coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday that Charbonnet (knee) may take part in Thursday's practice, which would open a 21-day window in which he can be evaluated and eventually be activated from the reserve/PUP list, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL in the divisional round of the playoffs back on Jan. 17 and underwent surgery in February, but he's made quick work in his recovery and technically will be eligible to return as soon as Week 5 if his practice window is opened this week. More than likely, the Seahawks will take their time with Charbonnet once he's back on the practice field, but it appears as if he'll be able to suit up for games that matter sooner than later. In the meantime, Jadarian Price will continue to lead the Seahawks backfield, with Emanuel Wilson and George Holani on hand for RB reps as well.

Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: May practice next week
Head coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that Charbonnet (knee) returning to practice next week is potentially "on the table," Corbin Smith of SI.com reports.
Charbonnet sits on the reserve/PUP list due to the left ACL tear he suffered in the divisional round on Jan. 17, meaning he must miss at least the first four games of the season. However, new rules for players on reserve/PUP allow players to practice as soon as Week 3 with the potential to return Week 5. If Charbonnet gets back on the practice field during Week 4 prep, he conceivably could return to action the next week, though the Seahawks likely will take a cautious approach considering the severity of the aforementioned injury.

Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Won't return to practice this week
Head coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday that the Seahawks won't open Charbonnet's (knee) practice window this week, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Charbonnet kicked off the season on the reserve/PUP list due to the left ACL tear that he sustained in the divisional round of the playoffs back on Jan. 17. Due to new rules for players on the reserve/PUP list, he's eligible to practice as soon as Week 3 prep and be activated for Week 5 action, but Seattle won't go that route with the running back just yet. Macdonald relayed to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune last Friday that the team is closing in on a decision for Charbonnet to resume practicing, so that appears to be on the horizon for the fourth-year pro. Jadarian Price (shoulder), Emanuel Wilson and George Holani will man the backfield until Charbonnet is ready for game action.

Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Closing in on return to practice
Coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that the Seahawks are drawing closer to setting a date for Charbonnet (knee) to resume practicing, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Because Charbonnet resides on the reserve/PUP list, he won't be eligible to practice until at least Week 5 prep, which would still be about a week and a half shy of being nine months removed from the torn left ACL he suffered Jan. 17. Once Seattle decides to open his practice window, he then will have three weeks to prove his health before either being activated or otherwise shut down for the rest of the season. As a result, he likely won't practice when he's first eligible to do so, but Macdonald's comments at least are an encouraging sign that Charbonnet is expected to return at some point in the regular season. Rookie first-rounder Jadarian Price, George Holani and Emanuel Wilson will continue to hold down the fort at running back for the Seahawks for as long as Charbonnet is sidelined.

Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Progressing in rehab
Coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that Charbonnet (knee) looks "awesome" in his rehab from a torn ACL, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Macdonald added that Charbonnet looks "dang good." The running back is on reserve/PUP to begin the season and will miss at least the first four games, but it sounds like he could return sometime next month. Seattle's backfield picture remains murky with rookie Jadarian Price, George Holani and Emanuel Wilson all options to see snaps. Adding Charbonnet's name to the mix will only muddy the picture. Price looks like the best bet for fantasy production, but the coaching staff has an affinity for Charbonnet, especially near the goal line.
