After Sigle suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 4, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that the second-year pro was slated to miss multiple weeks. With one absence under his belt so far and no practice reps to begin Week 6 prep, he appears to be trending toward another DNP on Monday versus the Commanders. Sigle is expected to miss multiple weeks due to a high-ankle injury that he sustained during the 49ers' 24-14 win over the Broncos on Sunday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Sigle sustained the injury late in the first quarter while on kickoff coverage and was not on the field for the 49ers' final defensive drive of the game. It wouldn't be surprising if the second-year pro goes on injured reserve, and in his absence, Malik Mustapha figures to be the next man up at safety next to Ji'Ayir Brown, with Siran Neal and Ashtyn Davis both providing depth at the position.

Sigle played every one of San Francisco's defensive snaps from Week 1 to Week 5, but he dipped to a 62 percent share upon the return of Malik Mustapha from IR in Week 6 versus Tampa Bay. The rookie safety's defensive snap share then dropped to 31 percent Sunday, with Mustapha at 69 percent and Jason Pinnock at 35 percent.
