Panthers' Devin Lloyd: Nine takedowns in win
Lloyd recorded nine total tackles (five solo) during Sunday night's 32-26 win against Detroit.
Lloyd was on the field for all 71 of the Panthers' defensive snaps in his return to action after missing Week 3 with a calf injury. The linebacker finished second on the team in takedowns behind cornerback Akayleb Evans (11), notching at least nine tackles for his third straight game. Lloyd has now compiled 31 total tackles (21 solo), including 1.0 sacks, while also adding two interceptions and a defensive touchdown over his first three regular-season contests with Carolina.

Panthers' Akayleb Evans: Double-digit stops in win
Evans recorded 11 total tackles (nine solo) and a pass defensed during Sunday night's 32-26 win over the Lions.
Evans stepped into a starting role at cornerback after Mike Jackson (groin) and Jaycee Horn (quadriceps) were both placed on injured reserve. The 27-year-old led the team in takedowns, and he'll likely operate in a starting role again Week 6 against the Eagles.

Panthers' Tommy Tremble: Four catches in SNF win
Tremble caught all four targets for 12 yards in Sunday night's win over the Lions.
Involved in a three-man committee at tight end, Tremble's 38 snaps trailed both Mitchell Evans (46) and Darren Waller (40) at the position. He also ran fewer routes than both. Tremble's 11 grabs this season have produced 82 scoreless yards on 15 targets. He has no fantasy appeal.

Panthers' Brycen Tremayne: Logs two catches vs. Detroit
Tremayne caught two of three passes for 32 yards during Sunday's 32-26 win over the Lions.
Tremayne actually led all Panthers wide receivers with 69 offensive snaps, and that extra playing time was largely due to the absence of Jalen Coker (quadriceps). Even with the elevated snap count, Sunday's game was the Tetairoa McMillan show, with the second-year wideout finishing with a 14-192-2 receiving line on 16 targets. After not seeing a target from Bryce Young in the first two games of the season, Tremayne has turned nine targets into 6 catches for 115 yards over the Panthers' last two contests. Carolina is on a bye for Week 5, and Tremayne's role would likely shrink against the Eagles in Week 6 if Coker is cleared to return.

Panthers' John Metchie: Expanded role in Week 4 win
Metchie caught three of five targets for 37 yards during the Panthers' 32-26 win over the Lions on Sunday.
Metchie worked with the first-team offense during Week 4 prep while Jalen Coker was nursing a quadriceps injury, and with the latter inactive for Sunday night's game, Metchie ended the contest with third-most targets on the Panthers behind Tetairoa McMillan (16) and tight end Darren Waller (six). Carolina will be on a bye for Week 5 before hitting the road for Week 6 against Philadelphia on Sunday, Oct. 18. That gives Coker more time to recover from his quad injury, and if he's cleared to play the Eagles, then Metchie would revert to a rotational role on offense.

Panthers' Ikem Ekwonu: Still not very near return
Coach Dave Canales said Monday that Ekwonu (knee) is still a considerable time away from returning to action, Mike Kaye of ESPN reports.
Ekwonu was placed on the Panthers' reserve/PUP list prior to the start of the regular season, as he was still recovering from the ruptured patellar tendon he suffered during the Panthers' wild-card loss against the Rams last postseason, and there's no indication at this point that he's nearing a return. With rookie first-rounder Monroe Freeling now dealing with a knee issue, Stone Forsythe could be called upon to start at right tackle for the Panthers in Week 6 after their bye in Week 5.

Panthers' Monroe Freeling: Hopeful for Week 6
Freeling (knee) could return to the field as soon as the Panthers' Week 6 game against the Buccaneers, Mike Kaye of ESPN.com reported Monday.
Freeling suffered a knee injury in the third quarter of the Panthers' Week 4 win over the Lions. The right tackle has already been preliminarily ruled out of the team's Week 5 matchup with the Eagles, but there is hope the lineman could be back for the Week 6 divisional matchup with the Buccaneers. While Freeling recovers, Stone Forsythe will likely start at right tackle.

Panthers' Jaelan Phillips: Targets Week 6 return
Phillips (hamstring) could return to the Panthers' lineup as early as the Week 6 game against the Buccaneers, Mike Kaye of ESPN.com reported Monday.
Phillips sustained a hamstring injury in the Panthers' Week 4 win over the Rams. The strongside linebacker is week-to-week with the injury but has only been preliminarily ruled out of the team's Week 5 contest against the Eagles. Princely Umanmielen or Trevis Gipson will likely start at strongside linebacker opposite Patrick Jones in Phillips' absence.

Panthers' Trevor Etienne: Expected back after Week 5 bye
Head coach Dave Canales said Etienne (ankle) will "for sure" be back following the Panthers' Week 5 bye, Mike Kaye of ESPN.com reports.
Etienne opened the season on injured reserve and is eligible to return in Week 6 at the earliest. Getting Etienne back would give the Panthers another backfield piece while Jonathon Brooks (abdomen) recovers from core muscle surgery. Etienne will likely see most of his playing time on special teams.

Panthers' Ryan Fitzgerald: Misses on two extra-point attempts
Fitzgerald connected on both of his field-goal tries and two of his four point-after attempts in Sunday's 32-26 win over the Lions.
Though his successful field goals of 33 and 47 yards helped provide the Panthers with enough cushion in the win, Fitzgerald's misfires on extra points following touchdowns in the second and third quarters could begin to cost him some job security. His first miss struck the right upright, while his second miss wasn't particularly close after he shanked the kick wide right. Fitzgerald has now missed three of his 13 extra-point tries on the season, after going 27-for-30 on those attempts as a rookie in 2025.

Panthers' Darren Waller: Held to three catches on SNF
Waller caught three of six targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 32-26 win over the Lions.
Waller finished second on the Panthers in targets and was one yard behind John Metchie for second on the team in receiving yards, but Tetairoa McMillan (14 catches for 192 yards and two TDs on 16 targets) was the clear No. 1 option in the passing game as the Panthers played without starting wide receiver Jalen Coker (quadriceps). The Lions had given up a league-high six touchdowns to tight ends entering play Sunday, but Waller was unable to add to that total. Waller and the Panthers will be on bye in Week 5 before facing the Eagles in Week 6.

Panthers' Bryce Young: Tosses two TDs to Tet
Young completed 29 of 41 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns while rushing three times for three yards in Sunday's 32-26 win over the Lions.
Young found Tetairoa McMillan for touchdown passes of 32 and 10 yards as they connected 14 times for 192 yards in the absence of Jalen Coker (quadriceps) and Xavier Legette (knee), the latter of whom is on IR. Young cooled off in the fourth quarter after leading the Panthers to a 29-19 advantage through three, but Carolina held on for its second win of the season. The 2023 first overall pick is off to a stellar start in 2026, with 1,268 passing yards and a 9:2 TD:INT through four games. Young and the Panthers will be on bye in Week 5 before facing Philadelphia in Week 6.

Panthers' Chuba Hubbard: Rushes for 122 and two TDs
Hubbard rushed 20 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns while catching one of two targets for seven yards in Sunday's 32-26 win over the Lions.
Hubbard complemented Tetairoa McMillan's pair of receiving touchdowns with rushing scores of 15 yards in the first quarter and four yards in the third quarter. After handling 27 touches in Carolina's first two games, Hubbard has been leaned on for 44 touches across the most recent two games as the Panthers play without Jonathon Brooks (abdomen), who was placed on injured reserve Sept. 23. Hubbard will rest up during the Week 5 bye before getting a chance to add to his season totals of 390 scrimmage yards and five total TDs in Week 6 against the Eagles.
