  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Won't return this season

Coach Aaron Glenn said Friday that Wilson (knee) will remain on IR for the rest of the season, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.

With the Jets 3-11 and out of playoff contention, there was no need to rush Wilson -- who last played in Week 10 -- back into action. The team's star wideout thus finishes his 2025 campaign with 36 catches (on 59 targets) for 395 yards and four TDs in seven games. Per Glenn, the Jets "just wanted to be smart with (Wilson) because he's a key cog of what we're doing here." The 2022 first-rounder remains under contract with New York through the 2030 campaign, and looking ahead he'll have plenty of time to recover from his knee issue ahead of next season, and when he next takes the field his supporting cast will no doubt be different, with upgrades at QB and WR presumably offseason priorities for the Jets.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: No change to IR status

Wilson (knee) won't have his window to resume practicing opened Wednesday, and head coach Aaron Glenn reiterated that a decision on Wilson's status moving forward will be made by team doctors, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Wilson has been on injured reserve since aggravating a knee injury in Week 10 against the Browns. He is eligible to have his practice window opened at any point moving forward, but it's unclear when or if that will occur. Glenn's answer to the media Wednesday regarding Wilson's status didn't differ from the information Glenn offered Monday. At this point, the Jets are preparing to move forward with John Metchie and Adonai Mitchell as their top two wide receivers for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Availability for stretch run TBD

Wilson (knee) is eligible to come off IR this week, but coach Aaron Glenn noted Monday that a determination regarding the wideout's status hinges on a medical decision between Wilson and the Jets doctors, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Wilson last saw game action in Week 10, but it remains unclear if or when he'll return to the lineup as Jets' last four games approach. With the team 3-10 and out of playoff contention, there's no reason to hurry Wilson back, and if he remains sidelined this coming Sunday against the Jaguars, John Metchie, Adonai Mitchell and Isaiah Williams would continue to lead New York's WR corps.
