Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Another productive campaign
Hicks accrued 116 tackles, five pass defenses, four sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in 17 games during the 2021 season.
It marked Hicks' third consecutive campaign in the Arizona desert with at least 100 tackles, but they occurred at slower pace (6.8 per game) than the previous two seasons (7.4 in 2020, 9.4 in 2019). Even though he has one year remaining on his contract, he's also looking over his shoulder at two recent first-round picks at his position. Second-year pro Isaiah Simmons stepped into a more prominent role this season and also racked up 105 tackles, while rookie Zaven Collins saw fewer and fewer snaps as the weeks passed by. Hicks acknowledged to Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site after the team's wild-card loss to the Rams that Simmons and Collins are the future at inside linebacker, meaning the seven-year veteran could find himself elsewhere in the fall.... Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Delivers massive game Week 13
Hicks tallied a season-high 13 tackles (nine solo) and recorded two sacks Sunday in the Cardinals' 33-22 win over the Bears.
Hicks is now up to 95 tackles and five sacks on the season, making him the only player in the NFL to reach both benchmarks. Though his 7.9 tackles per game are well behind the career-best 9.3 per game he averaged in 2019, Hicks' improved numbers as a pass rusher has allowed him to remain one of the top IDP producers at linebacker.... Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Returns from injury
Hicks (toe) recorded 10 tackles (eight solo) and one pass defended in Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Panthers.
Hicks was a limited participant during the Cardinals' practice leading up to the game, but he still played despite the injury. The first-string linebacker managed his third double-digit tackle game this season as the team's primary inside linebacker. Hicks has taken a majority of the team's defensive snaps, giving him higher potential to be successful in IDP leagues.... See More ... See Less
Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Full participant Friday
Hicks (toe) doesn't have an injury designation heading into Sunday's matchup against the Panthers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Hicks was limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday, but he was able to log a full practice Friday and will be available Sunday. The 29-year-old linebacker has registered 64 tackles, three sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble across nine appearances this season.... See More ... See Less
Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Remains limited by toe injury
Hicks (toe) was listed as limited on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Hicks paced the Cardinals in Week 9 at San Francisco with eight tackles, which he supplemented with two fumble recoveries. With 20 combined stops over the past two games, he has a four-tackle lead on Jalen Thompson for tops on the team with 64 through nine games, which also ranks 22nd overall in the NFL. Hicks' toe injury has bothered him since Week 6, but considering he hasn't missed any of the past four games he should be good to go for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers.... See More ... See Less
Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Racks up 12 tackles in Week 8
Hicks compiled 12 tackles, including one tackle for loss, during Thursday's 24-21 loss to the Packers.
Hicks has had practice limitations the past two weeks, a stretch that included a season-low two tackles and 65 percent snap share in Week 7 against the Texans. But he bounced back nicely by matching his season high in stops Week 8 and now is on pace for a healthy 119 (prorated to 17 games).... See More ... See Less

Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Listed as questionable
Hicks (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Texans, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Hicks didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, but he was able to return Friday as a limited participant. He is officially listed as questionable for Week 7, but he will likely be available, as he went through the same practice regimen last week and was able to suit up and play well, notching two sacks and six tackles against the Browns.... Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Not practicing yet
Hicks (toe) missed a second straight practice Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
So far, Hicks is following his practice regimen from a week ago, when he didn't get on the field in the first two sessions. He ended up returning Friday as a limited participant, only to enter the weekend as questionable before being deemed active this past Sunday in Cleveland. He ended up sacking Baker Mayfield (shoulder) twice, and after putting up six tackles Hicks leads the Cardinals with 42 through six games. Hicks will look to be available again Week 7 against the Texans.... See More ... See Less
Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Continues to pace team in tackles
Hicks had six tackles, including two sacks, during Sunday's 37-14 victory in Cleveland.
Hicks has been good for at least six tackles in five straight games, but he supplemented his line with two takedowns of Baker Mayfield, bringing his sack count on the season to three. That number matches his career high from his 2018 campaign with the Eagles, and he now sits alone with a team-leading 42 tackles after standout safety Budda Baker mustered just two Sunday.... Hicks (toe) is active for Sunday's game at Cleveland, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Hicks managed just one limited practice during Week 6 prep as he dealt with a toe injury, but he nonetheless is healthy enough to suit up on game day. He's missed only five defensive snaps on the season en route to a team-high (along with Budda Baker) 36 tackles.... See More ... See Less
Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Week 6 status up in air
Hicks (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Cleveland, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Hicks didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday before ending Week 6 prep with a limited session. It remains to be seen if it was enough for the Cardinals to clear him for game action this weekend. If it doesn't, Hicks would be replaced by rookie first-rounder Zaven Collins, who would slot in at inside linebacker next to the team's 2020 first-round pick Isaiah Simmons.... See More ... See Less
Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Tending to toe injury
Hicks didn't practice Wednesday due to a toe injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
After tallying six more tackles this past Sunday against the 49ers, Hicks still sits in a tie with IDP standout Budda Baker for the team lead in the category with 36. Hicks' ability to stave off two recent first-round picks (Isaiah Simmons and Zaven Collins) for playing time while missing just five defensive snaps (all in Weeks 1 and 2) through five games is a testament to his standing on the Cardinals. However, with a health concern in tow, Hicks' status will be one to watch closely to see if there may be changes at inside linebacker this Sunday in Cleveland.... See More ... See Less
Cardinals' Jordan Hicks: Another eight tackles Week 4
Hicks churned out eight tackles during Sunday's 37-20 road win versus the Rams.
After posting a pedestrian four tackles in the season opener, Hicks has got on track the last three games, totaling 26 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble during that stretch. He also played 100 percent of the Cardinals' defensive snaps both Week 3 and 4, making him the only player on the team to do so. Tied with Budda Baker and fellow inside linebacker Isaiah Simmons for the team lead in tackles (30), Hicks will aim for another productive outing Sunday against the run-based 49ers.... See More ...
