Packers' Matthew Golden: Closes regular season with one grab
Golden caught one of three targets for eight yards in Sunday's 16-3 loss to the Vikings. He finished his rookie regular season with 29 receptions for 361 yards on 44 targets and 10 rushes for 49 yards over 14 games.
Golden saw a major increase in playing time in Week 18 with the Packers resting most of their key offensive players in the regular season finale. The rookie wideout played 100 percent of Green Bay's offensive snaps Sunday after averaging a sub-50 percent snap over his 13 prior games. After being drafted in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the expectations surrounding Golden's ability to be an instant contributor this season were not met. However, the Texas product did flash his potential as a deep threat with the ability to stretch the field. His limited usage in a crowded receiving corps featuring the likes of Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks ultimately capped his upside in his first year as a pro. Golden will continue to be extremely difficult to trust for fantasy purposes as the Packers visit the Bears in the first round of the wild-card playoffs on Saturday.

Packers' Matthew Golden: Minimal usage in loss
Golden rushed twice for four yards and didn't catch his lone target during Saturday's 22-16 overtime loss to the Bears.
Golden has now logged just one target in two of the Packers' last three games. He played 22 offensive snaps during Saturday's loss, trailing Jayden Reed (45), Christian Watson (43), Romeo Doubs (43) and Dontayvion Wicks (30). Golden, a 2025 first-round pick from Texas, has had an underwhelming start to his NFL career, catching 27 of 38 targets for 341 yards and rushing 10 times for 49 yards across 12 contests. He likely won't carry much fantasy value in the Week 17 matchup against the Ravens, especially with the uncertainty surround Green Bay's quarterback situation stemming from both Jordan Love (concussion) and Malik Willis (shoulder) dealing with injuries.

Packers' Matthew Golden: Emerges late in loss
Golden recorded three receptions on four targets for 55 yards in Sunday's 34-26 loss to the Broncos.
Golden had only two targets and one catch through three quarters, though he was forced to step up with Christian Watson (chest) sidelined early in the third quarter. Golden delivered a long 27-yard reception early in the fourth quarter to help set up a Green Bay field goal, and he managed his highest yardage total since Week 6. The severity of Watson's injury isn't clear, though Golden should have the chance to step up for a Week 16 matchup against the Bears if Watson is sidelined.

Packers' Matthew Golden: In clear for Sunday
Golden (wrist) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's contest at Denver, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
Since he injured his shoulder Week 9 against the Panthers and then picked up a wrist issue after Week 11 action, Golden has missed three contests (Weeks 10, 12 and 13) and logged 23 combined offensive snaps and four targets in his two appearances. He finally was a full participant Friday for the first time since prior to Week 9, so he presumably will be able to take on whatever workload Sunday's game plan allows for. However, all of Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed (shoulder), Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) and Bo Melton also will be available this weekend, meaning Golden could be reduced to certain sub-packages.

Packers' Matthew Golden: Stays limited at practice
Golden (wrist) was limited at Thursday's practice.
Golden has been listed with a wrist injury since Week 12 prep that sidelined him for two games and capped him at five offensive snaps and one target, which he didn't catch, in this past Sunday's win over the Bears. He joins Jayden Reed (shoulder), Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) and Savion Williams (foot) as limited participants this week as the Packers' receiving corps continues to be beset by injuries. Friday's practice report will reveal whether or not Golden enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's contest in Denver.

Packers' Matthew Golden: Limited due to wrist
Golden (wrist) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Golden returned from a two-game absence to play just 10 percent of Green Bay's snaps on offense in Sunday's 28-21 win over the Bears. Reports have suggested that Golden and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) might have played more if they'd been healthy, but it also seems like Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed are the top three on the depth chart.

Packers' Matthew Golden: Limited by wrist issue
Golden was limited by a wrist injury in Sunday's 28-21 victory over the Bears, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com.
Golden played only five snaps in Week 14 after missing a pair of contests with a wrist issue, and although his snap count may have taken a hit regardless with Jayden Reed returning, the lack of playing time was at least partly due to his injury. Golden could be more involved in Week 15 if he is able to shed his injury tag by Friday, but even still, his role will likely remain limited with all of Reed, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs healthy and ahead of him on the depth chart.

Packers' Matthew Golden: Falls out of favor
Golden (wrist) failed to bring in his only target in Sunday's 28-21 win over Chicago.
Golden fell out of favor after returning from a two-game layoff due to a wrist injury. The first-round rookie watched six teammates finish with higher target counts in the win. This was the concern regarding Golden's usage now that Green Bay's receiver room is back at full strength. Jayden Reed (foot/shoulder) was activated from injured reserve prior to Sunday's contest and was far more involved than Golden, making the former the more desirable Packers' returning receiver to go after on the wire ahead of next Sunday's tilt against Denver.

Packers' Matthew Golden: Returning to action Sunday
Golden (wrist) is active for Sunday's game against the Bears, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
Golden has missed three of the last four contests due to shoulder and wrist injuries, but in his return to the lineup Week 14, he'll welcome back third-year WR Jayden Reed (foot/shoulder), who has been sidelined since Week 2. Considering all of Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks entered the weekend without designations, Golden and Reed may be capped to certain situations behind that trio. Having said that, Golden has managed just a 24-286-0 line on 32 targets in nine appearances to begin his career, so he's difficult to trust for consistent production.

Packers' Matthew Golden: Questionable for Week 14
Golden (wrist) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
Golden has a chance to return following a two-game absence. He was a limited participant in all three of Green Bay's practices during Week 14 prep. If the rookie first-round pick suits up, it remains to be seen how much playing time he will see in a Packers receiving corps that will have Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks available, as well as possibly Jayden Reed (foot/shoulder, IR).

Packers' Matthew Golden: Limited again Thursday
Golden (wrist) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
Golden is one of three Packers wide receivers that have been limited so far this week, with Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) and Jayden Reed (foot/shoulder) being the others, while Savion Williams (foot) has been a non-participant. Golden has missed three of the last four games due to shoulder and wrist injuries, but Friday's practice report may provide insight into his odds to return to action Sunday against the Bears.
