  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Lining up for return

Sewell (elbow) was estimated to have practiced in full at Wednesday's walkthrough. Sewell has missed the Bears' last two games with an elbow injury. His return to full practice suggests he'll be ready to suit up in Week 14 against the Packers, and he should occupy a key role with Tremaine Edmunds (groin) sidelined.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Remaining out Week 13

Sewell (elbow) has been ruled out for Friday's tilt against the Eagles. Sewell will miss a second straight game due to an elbow injury. He was listed as a non-participant in all three practice sessions (though two were walkthroughs) this week, so his status for the Sunday, Dec. 7 clash against Green Bay is also hazy. The Bears are very depleted at the linebacker position this week, as Tremaine Edmunds (groin) landed on IR on Saturday and Ruben Hyppolite (shoulder) and T.J. Edwards (hand) have both also been ruled out for the matchup versus Philadelphia.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Misses Wednesday's practice

Sewell (elbow) didn't practice Wednesday. Sewell has opened the Bears' week of practice with consecutive DNPs, suggesting he likely won't be available for Friday's matchup against the Eagles. If the Oregon product is forced to miss his second game in a row due to an elbow injury, Daniel Hardy and Amen Ogbongbemiga could have expanded roles on the Bears' first team defense.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Won't play Sunday

Sewell (elbow) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Steelers. Sewell didn't practice all week after likely sustaining an elbow injury in the Bears' Week 11 win over the Vikings, so it's no surprise that he won't suit up Sunday. The Oregon product has been one of Chicago's top defenders this season, recording 55 total tackles and one forced fumble over nine appearances. While he's out in Week 12, expect D'Marco Jackson to have an expanded role in the Bears' linebacker corps.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Strong performance in victory

Sewell recorded 10 tackles, including four solo, in the Bears' 19-17 win over the Vikings on Sunday. Sewell started again for T.J. Edwards (hand) and has produced five to 11 tackles in each of the five contests Edwards has missed, reaching nine or more in four of them. He profiles as a high-floor IDP when Edwards is sidelined.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Ruled out for Week 7

Sewell (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Saints. Sewell remains in concussion protocol after being injured in a collision with a teammate during Monday's win over the Commanders. Ruben Hyppolite, D'Marco Jackson and Carl Jones are the top candidates for additional playing time in Sewell's absence.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: No activity Wednesday

Sewell (concussion) did not participate in Chicago's walkthrough Wednesday. Sewell was knocked out of Monday's win with a concussion after accidentally being hit by a teammate. It's unsurprising that he was unable to take the field in any capacity just two days later, and he could have a tough time clearing the league's protocol in time for Sunday's Week 7 matchup against New Orleans.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Five tackles in victory

Sewell recorded five tackles (one solo) in the Bears' win over the Raiders on Sunday. With T.J. Edwards (hamstring) still battling his injury, Sewell started for the third time in four contests and played 96 percent of the defensive snaps against Las Vegas. Chicago has a Week 5 bye, and Edwards could potentially return after the open date. Through four games, Sewell has 30 tackles (17 solo), including a pair of TFLs.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Leads team in tackles Monday

Sewell recorded nine tackles (seven solo) during Monday's 27-24 loss versus the Vikings. Sewell was everywhere in Week 1, besting his tackle total from the entirety of the 2024 season in just one contest. It's hard to argue he didn't justify his expanded role in Chicago's regular-season debut, so the team may decide to keep him on the field on a regular basis as the year goes on. He's put his name on the IDP radar heading into a Week 2 matchup at Detroit.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Won't play Week 10

Sewell (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against New England. Sewell has been dealing with a knee injury this week, and it appears severe enough for him to be sidelined Sunday. His next chance at suiting up will be Week 11 against the Packers on Sunday, Nov. 17.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Full practice Wednesday

Sewell (knee) was a full participant at the Bears' practice Wednesday. Sewell missed Chicago's last two contests due to a knee injury, but he now appears to be a full go ahead of Sunday's matchup with Atlanta. The linebacker has recorded nine tackles and a forced fumble over the 11 games he's appeared in so far during his rookie campaign with the Bears.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Will miss second straight week

Sewell (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Sewell was unable to practice all week and will miss his second straight game and fourth game of the season. He's primarily played on special teams this year and has nine tackles (four solo) and a forced fumble over 11 games.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Ruled out with knee injury

Sewell (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Cleveland. Sewell logged a full practice session Wednesday but was limited Thursday and didn't practice at all Friday. It's unclear if his current issue is related to the knee injury that cost him two straight games prior to the Bears' Week 13 bye. Sewell has worked mostly on special teams this season, recording just 25 defensive snaps over 11 contests.

  • Bears' Noah Sewell: Goes to Windy City

The Bears selected Sewell in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 148th overall. Sewell was a highly touted prospect coming out of high school and led Oregon in tackles both his freshman and sophomore year. The 22-year-old dropped off dramatically his junior year despite never missing a game due to injury. Essentially a throwback, hard-hitting interior linebacker, Sewell should get ample opportunity to compete for a starting spot with Jack Sanborn.
