Top Bengals News

  • Bengals' Cashius Howell: Placed on IR

Howell (wrist) was placed on injured reserve by the Bengals on Tuesday.

Howell suffered a right wrist injury during Sunday's overtime win against the Titans, and he will now be forced to miss at least four contests as a result. The defensive lineman has already undergone surgery, per Mike Petraglia of CLNSCincy.com, and in Howell's absence, Shemar Stewart will stand to see an increase in workload at defensive end.

  • Bengals' Evan McPherson: Hits all five extra points

McPherson made all five extra-point attempts in Sunday's 43-36 win over the Titans.

For the second straight week, the Bengals' kicker did not attempt a field goal but connected on all five of his extra-point tries. He's certainly getting scoring attempts in the high-flying Bengals offense, though a few more field-goal tries would boost his fantasy value.

  • Bengals' Samaje Perine: Totals 19 yards against Tennessee

Perine rushed four times for 10 yards and caught his lone target for nine yards in Sunday's 43-36 overtime win over the Titans.

The Bengals were chasing the Titans on the scoreboard much of the afternoon and Chase Brown and Perine combined for just 16 carries, as Joe Burrow fired off 48 pass attempts. Perine is a touchdown-or-bust desperation RB3 in fantasy whose main value comes in the form of being Brown's backup. Cincinnati has been linked to a potential trade for a running back ahead of next week's deadline.

  • Bengals' DJ Turner: Day-to-day with ankle injury

Turner (ankle) is considered day-to-day, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reported Monday.

Turner exited the fourth quarter of the Bengals' overtime win over the Titans on Sunday and did not return. The cornerback has strung together a remarkable season thus far, capped off with two forced fumbles in Sunday's game. If Turner can recover quickly, he will have a shot to suit up for the Bengals' showdown with the Falcons in Madrid, Spain, during Week 9.

  • Bengals' Colbie Young: Goes without target in Week 8

Young went without a target while playing 19 of the Bengals' 74 snaps on offense in Sunday's 43-36 overtime win over the Titans.

Though quarterback Joe Burrow set season highs in passing yards (462) and passing touchdowns (five), Young didn't see any involvement while the targets were highly concentrated among Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Chase Brown. The fourth-round pick out of Georgia has held a bit role so far during his rookie season, recording two catches for nine yards on two targets through five appearances.

  • Bengals' Mike Gesicki: Reaches end zone in OT victory

Gesicki caught four of six targets for 76 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 43-36 overtime win against the Titans.

Gesicki was able to reach the end zone for the fifth straight game, connecting with Joe Burrow for a 25-yard score in the fourth quarter. The tight end's four catches and 76 receiving yards were both his highest totals since Week 1 versus Tampa Bay. Gesicki has now caught 17 of 24 targets for 241 yards and six scores over seven contests to open the regular season.

  • Bengals' Chase Brown: Solid all-around day in OT win

Brown rushed 12 times for 55 yards and brought in eight of nine targets for 46 yards in the Bengals' 43-36 overtime win over the Titans on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.

Brown led the Bengals in rushing with an efficient performance, and he finished with his best yardage total on the ground since Week 3. Brown's very busy day as a receiver was second only to his 11-catch, 71-yard effort against the Jaguars in Week 4, and his lost fumble, his second of the season, came early in the fourth quarter and did lead to a Titans touchdown. Brown is in line to fill his usual voluminous dual role in a Week 9 international matchup against the Falcons in Madrid next Sunday.
