Giants' Cam Skattebo: Could be game-time call for Week 9
Giants head coach John Harbaugh said that Skattebo (hamstring) is day-to-day and could end up being a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt with the Eagles, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
After tweaking his hamstring late in the Giants' Week 7 overtime win over Houston, Skattebo was seen working off to the side Monday during an unofficial practice coming out of a bye week. Skattebo will still have three more opportunities to log on-field reps in Week 9, and the Giants should have a better idea about his status for Sunday's game based on what he's able to do in those sessions. Devin Singletary would be the next man up in the New York backfield if Skattebo is unable to play or is limited against the Eagles.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Works off to side during practice Monday
Skattebo (hamstring) was spotted working out off to the side during the Giants' unofficial practice session Monday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Skattebo tweaked his hamstring at the end of a 42-yard run in overtime during the Giants' Week 7 win over the Texans, capping off a season-best performance during which he accounted for 121 yards and a touchdown on 18 touches. Though a well-timed Week 8 bye gave Skattebo additional time to recover, he may not be back to 100 percent as the Giants begin prepping for Sunday's game against the Eagles. The Giants will release their first official Week 9 injury report Wednesday, when it will be known whether Skattebo is healthy enough to practice fully or if he's operating with limitations.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Expected to be OK after hamstring tweak
Skattebo is expected to "OK" after tweaking his hamstring on a 42-yard run in overtime during Sunday's 27-21 win over the Texans, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Skattebo's explosive run put the Giants within field-goal range before he was subbed out for Devin Singeltary, who ran up the middle for a 30-yard score to seal the win on the very next play. Though he told Dan Graziano of ESPN.com after the game that he "felt something" in his hamstring that prompted him to slide down at the end of his run rather than being tackled to the ground, Skattebo doesn't sound like he'll require an MRI and should be ready to play in the Giants' next game Nov. 8 versus the Eagles following a Week 8 bye. After being limited to just six snaps in the Week 6 loss to the Saints following a string of poor outings to begin the campaign, Skattebo stepped back into a lead role out of the backfield in Sunday's victory and delivered his best performance of the season, finishing with 121 total yards and a touchdown on 18 touches.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Suffers hamstring injury
Skattebo told Dan Graziano of ESPN after Sunday's 27-21 overtime win at Houston that he "felt something in his hamstring" during his final carry of the game.
One week removed from not receiving a touch while playing six offensive snaps in a loss to the Saints, Skattebo was back in the saddle in the Giants backfield this Sunday, turning 17 rushes into 124 yards and one touchdown and gathering in his only target for minus-3 yards. Meanwhile, fellow RBs Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy (hamstring) combined for 15 touches in Week 7. Both Skattebo and Tracy emerged from this contest with health concerns, but with a Week 8 bye on tap for New York, both players will have time to rest up for the team's next game Sunday, Nov. 8 in Philadelphia.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Slated to resume role as RB1
Skattebo is expected to resume his role as the Giants' lead running back in Sunday's game at Houston, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Skattebo ranked fourth in offensive snaps (six of 77) among Giants running backs behind Devin Singletary (31), Tyrone Tracy (29) and Najee Harris (11) last Sunday against the Saints, failing to log a touch in the process. The team has since released Harris, and Skattebo's brief benching appears to be over. It's unclear who among Skattebo, SIngletary and Tracy will get the start this Sunday, but the former did average 18.2 touches per game through the first five weeks of the campaign.

Giants' Cam Skattebo: Expected to be back in mix for Week 7
Head coach John Harbaugh said Friday that Skattebo had a "good week" of practice and that the second-year running back should be back in the mix for backfield touches against the Texans on Sunday, Jordan Ranaan of ESPN.com reports.
Skattebo didn't log a single carry during the Giants' 34-27 loss to the Saints in Week 6, spending most of the game on the bench. That lack of production stemmed from his critical fumble during overtime against the Commanders in Week 5, but following the release of Najee Harris on Tuesday, Ranaan indicates that Skattebo is expected to reclaim a key role in the Giants' backfield this weekend alongside Tyrone Tracy, with Devin Singletary also in line for work.
