Eagles' Markel Bell: Practices in full Wednesday
Bell (thumb) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Bell missed practices in late August due to thumb and leg issues. The offensive tackle has returned to full practice and should be all set to suit up against the Commanders in Week 1 as one of the Eagles' primary depth options on the offensive line.

Eagles' Markel Bell: Misses practice Monday
Bell (thumb) sat out of practice Monday, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.
The offensive tackle is dealing with both thumb and leg issues, per Kubena. Bell put together a strong preseason performance against New England on Saturday and is considered a lock to make the Eagles' roster. As long as his injuries are minor, his status as the backup right tackle to Lane Johnson shouldn't change.

Eagles' Markel Bell: Scooped by Philadelphia
The Eagles selected Bell in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 68th overall.
Bell emerged as Miami's starter at left tackle in 2024 and was the full-time starter in 2025, when he was tasked with protecting Carson Beck. Bell was named to the All-ACC Third-Team in his senior year, when he did not allow a sack and logged the fifth-most offensive snaps in the FBS. He has a 6-foot-9, 346-pound frame that makes him a top-heavy blocker, but that towering presence could make it difficult for Bell to keep up with speedy pass rushers. Still, those skills should build with time and reps, and Bell will have the opportunity to learn behind veteran offensive tackles Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson (foot).
