Cardinals' Trey McBride: Finds paydirt in Week 2
McBride caught eight of nine targets for 41 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 31-7 loss to Seattle.
McBride was the lone bright spot for Arizona's offense, reeling in nearly half of the team's 95 total passing yards in the game. The tight end was able to find the end zone for a second straight contest to open the regular season, snagging a two-yard score from Jacoby Brissett on the opening play of the second quarter. McBride is coming off of one of the most dominant seasons for a tight end in NFL history, and he's now off to a hot start in 2026, catching 17 of 22 targets for 136 yards and two scores over the Cardinals' first two games.

Cardinals' Trey McBride: Signature effort in Week 1 upset
McBride brought in nine of 12 targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals' 26-14 win over the Chargers on Sunday.
McBride was in the familiar position of leading the Cardinals across the board in receptions, receiving yards and targets while also being on the receiving end of Jacoby Brissett's one touchdown pass. McBride recorded his three-yard scoring grab early in the fourth quarter, a critical touchdown considering it extended what had been a narrow 16-14 lead for Arizona. The talented tight end's performance was all the more impressive considering the presence of All-Pro safety Derwin James on the other side, and McBride will look to carry over his significant season-opening momentum into a Week 2 divisional home clash with the defending champion Seahawks next Sunday.

Cardinals' Trey McBride: No. 1 TE on depth chart
McBride is listed as the Cardinals' No. 1 TE on the team's unofficial depth chart.
McBride emerged as a target hog in 2024, racking up 147 in 16 regular-season games en route to 111 catches and 1,146 yards but just two touchdowns. The end-zone woes finally came to a close last season, though, as he finished with a monster 126-1,239-11 line on 169 targets in 17 regular-season contests. The catch count set an NFL record for most by a tight end in a campaign, surpassing Zach Ertz's 116 from his 2018 season with the Eagles. McBride remains the top pass catcher for QB Jacoby Brissett and Arizona's offense, but he does have competition for looks from WRs Marvin Harrison and Michael Wilson.
