  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Set for Sunday

Tracy (knee) does not have any injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Tracy upgraded his practice participation level in each of the Giants' Week 4 prep sessions. The running back went from a DNP on Wednesday to limited Thursday before finally achieving full participation Friday, in time to avoid any injury designation. Tracy is set to suit up for Sunday's game as the No. 3 option behind Cam Skattebo and Najee Harris.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Upgrades practice participation level

Tracy (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Tracy didn't practice at all Wednesday, so his return (albeit in a limited fashion) Thursday is a sign that he's improving. The third-year pro seems to have a chance of playing Week 4 against Arizona, though he'll likely have an injury designation heading into the weekend if he's not able to practice fully Friday. Even if Tracy does suit up Sunday, he's unlikely to have a major role on offense given that he's logged just four offensive snaps through three contests on the campaign.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Nursing knee injury

Tracy (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Head coach John Harbaugh told reporters after Wednesday's session that Tracy is considered day-to-day and believes the knee injury isn't a serious matter. Tracy has mostly played on special teams this season, but if he's not cleared to play against the Cardinals on Sunday, then Devin Singletary -- who was a healthy scratch for Week 3 against the Titans -- would serve as the Giants' RB3 behind Cam Skattebo and Najee Harris.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Loses spot in backfield rotation

Tracy played only one offensive snap during the Giants' 28-6 loss to the Rams on Monday.

Tracy's lone offensive play -- a carry on which he lost three yards in the fourth quarter -- didn't end up counting due to a penalty. The third-year running back did play 16 snaps on special teams and returned two kickoffs for 52 yards. That appears to be Tracy's path to playing time at the moment, as he is firmly behind Cam Skattebo, Devin Singletary and Najee Harris in the backfield pecking order.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Healthy ahead of Week 2

Tracy (illness) did not appear on the Giants' injury report Thursday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Tracy was dealing with an illness to open the week, but he now appears to be back to full health. The running back logged just two snaps with the offense Week 1 against the Cowboys, losing a fumble on his second and final carry of the contest. Tracy figures to once again operate as the No. 3 option in the backfield behind starter Cam Skattebo and top backup Devin Singletary during Monday night's contest against the Rams.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Comes down with illness

Coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that Tracy is dealing with an illness, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Three days removed from logging just two offensive snaps in the Giants' season-opening win against the Cowboys, Tracy wasn't able to take part in Wednesday's unofficial practice. Harbaugh believes Tracy will be back on the practice field Thursday, after which the team will post its first Week 2 injury report ahead of Monday's game at the Rams.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Two offensive snaps in Week 1

Tracy recorded two carries for 14 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday night's 28-20 win over Dallas.

Tracy put the ball on the ground on his second rushing attempt of the night, and Cowboys defensive lineman Quinnen Williams recovered the fumble. The running back didn't play another snap on offense the rest of the night. In total, Tracy logged two snaps on offense and nine snaps with the special-teams unit, and he'll enter Week 2 as the team's No. 3 option in the backfield behind Cam Skattebo and Devin Singletary.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: No listing on Week 1 injury report

Tracy (neck) wasn't listed on the Giants' first Week 1 injury report Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Tracy sustained an apparent neck injury during New York's exhibition finale, but after landing a spot on the team's initial active roster and having nearly two weeks to recover, he's in good health ahead of a Week 1 matchup with the Cowboys. With Cam Skattebo leading the Giants backfield and Najee Harris and Devin Singletary also on hand for reps, it remains to be seen what kind of workload Tracy can expect in the regular-season opener.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Practicing in non-contact jersey

Tracy (neck) is present at Tuesday's practice in a non-contact jersey, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Tracy suffered a neck stinger in last Friday's preseason finale and avoided a major injury. Despite a rocky preseason and training camp under new coach John Harbaugh and OC Matt Nagy, Tracy still managed to make the Giants' 53-man roster. However, Najee Harris and Devin Singletary are also in the mix behind Cam Skattebo, leaving Tracy's actual role uncertain.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Makes initial 53-man roster

Tracy (neck) is on the Giants' initial 53-man roster for the 2026 season, Dan Salomone and Matt Citak of the team's official site report.

The decision regarding Tracy's place on New York's roster was tied to uneven play in the preseason, the recent arrival of veteran RB Najee Harris to the position group, and a neck injury that Tracy picked up in the team's exhibition finale. Having said that, he's now among the backfield options along with No. 1 Cam Skattebo, Devin Singletary and Harris. It's perhaps a vote of confidence for the third-year pro, but because the other three are healthy, Tracy may be hard-pressed for a regular role early on this season.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Injury not believed to be serious

Tracy (neck) is dealing with a stinger, but it is not believed to be a major injury, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Tracy left Friday's preseason victory over the Jets with the injury, but head coach John Harbaugh indicated afterward it is not a serious setback. Tracy had four carries for 37 yards and a touchdown prior to his exit, which is the showing he needed in what is now a crowded Giants running back room.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Won't return Friday

Tracy (neck) cleared concussion protocol but will not return to Friday's preseason game against the Jets, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.

Tracy sustained an apparent neck injury during an eight-yard run in the second quarter. The good news for the third-year running back is that he was not diagnosed with a concussion, and he'll finish his night with four carries for 37 yards and a touchdown. How Tracy's neck reacts over the coming days will determine what his practice participation will look like leading up to Week 1 against the Cowboys on Sunday, Sept. 13.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Goes to locker room

Tracy went to the locker room during Friday's preseason game against the Jets due to an apparent neck injury, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Tracy was tended to by medical staff after taking a big hit on an eight-yard run during the second quarter. The good news was that he was able to walk off the field and into the locker room under his own power. Given that he's being checked for a neck injury, it appears unlikely that Tracy will return to Friday's exhibition contest. If he's indeed done, he''ll finish with four carries for 37 yards and a touchdown.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Commits another preseason blunder

Tracy rushed six times for 26 yards, caught all three of his targets for 22 yards and lost a fumble in Saturday's 26-3 preseason win over the Dolphins.

Tracy split carries with Devin Singletary in the first half while Cam Skattebo and the newly signed Najee Harris didn't see any action. For the second time in as many preseason games, Tracy made a key mistake. After whiffing on a pass block in the preseason opener, Tracy fumbled in the red zone Saturday. Tracy averaged a solid 4.3 yards per carry and 7.7 yards per catch through his first two NFL seasons, so while the 2024 fifth-round pick could still be a key part of the Giants' backfield plans in 2026, he needs to clean up the errors to avoid landing in head coach John Harbaugh's doghouse.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: More competition in backfield

Tracy will face more competition for snaps and touches after the Giants signed Najee Harris on Tuesday, as reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

New York already seemed to be leaning towards a backfield committee with Cam Skattebo, Tracy and Devin Singletary all working with the offensive starters during the team's preseason opener last Saturday, but Harris potentially adds another running back to the mix once he proves he's fully recovered from an Achilles tear. Tracy seems to have a clear path to a passing-down role, but Harris has a three-down resume from his time in Pittsburgh, including a 74-catch season in 2021 as a rookie, so he'll be a threat to all three incumbents. Tracy has produced a 74-572-3 line on 101 targets over his first 32 regular-season NFL games.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Just two touches in preseason opener

Tracy carried the ball twice for five yards in Saturday's 13-10 preseason loss to the Vikings. He failed to catch his only target.

The Giants' starters on offense played just two possessions in their preseason opener, but the backfield ended up being a three-way committee as Tracy, Cam Skattebo and Devin Singletary all mixed in. Tracy wound up having the worst day of the trio, as Skattebo managed 19 yards on four carries while Singletary also had four touches, including a 40-yard reception from Jameis Winston on a 3rd-and-23 early in the second quarter that helped set up New York's only TD of the day. Skattebo stands at the top of the depth chart, with Tracy expected to be the primary passing-down option, but Saturday's usage at least hints that their roles and volume may not be so clear-cut under new coach John Harbaugh.
