Browns' Shelby Harris: Lands one-year deal
Harris signed a one-year, $5.25 million contract with the Browns on Wednesday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The deal came after the defensive tackle visited the team on July 31. Harris has started all 58 games in which he's played over the past four seasons with the Seahawks and Broncos. The 10-year veteran may compete for a starting spot with Jordan Elliott, but Harris appears to be the front-runner to get the job.

Shelby Harris: Officially released Tuesday
The Seahawks released Harris on Tuesday, The Athletic's Michael-Shawn Dugar reports.
The move clears over $8.9 million in cap space for the Seahawks, as Harris was entering the final year of his contract. The 31-year-old was part of the return package from the Broncos in the Russell Wilson trade and started 15 games for Seattle last season, notching four forced fumbles and a pair of sacks. He's still an effective interior defender.

Seahawks' Shelby Harris: Expected to be released
The Seahawks are expected to release Harris after the start of the new league year Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Harris, who joined Seattle as a part of last offseason's trade of Russell Wilson with Denver, was set for a $9 million salary if not cut this season. The Seahawks would reportedly also consider trading the veteran defensive lineman but haven't managed to find a workable deal. In 2022, Harris appeared in 15 games and recorded just two sacks.

Seahawks' Shelby Harris: Starts every game in 2022
Harris recorded 44 tackles (24 solo), four pass breakups and 2.5 sacks over 15 regular-season games during the 2022 season.
Harris was included in the trade package that pried QB Russell Wilson from Seattle and to Denver. The 31-year-old defensive lineman started every game, including the postseason contest, but he posted his lowest sack total since the 2018 season. Harris is heading into the final year of his contract, but the Seahawks would save nearly $9 million against the salary cap by cutting him. However, his job is probably safe unless the Seahawks are ready to bring in significant reinforcements on the defensive line through free agency and the draft.
