Royals caught two of his four targets for 24 yards during Kansas City's win over the Chargers on Sunday.
Royals saw increased playing time with Rashee Rice out due to a hamstring injury and ended up amassing a season-high 24 receiving yards. The 2025 fourth-round pick has now caught five passes for 41 yards and a touchdown across five games this season and could once again serve as the team's No. 2 receiver should Rice remain sidelined for the Week 7 matchup against the Seahawks.

Chiefs' Jalen Royals: Scores touchdown in OT win
Royals caught both of his targets for six yards and a touchdown while logging two tackles on kick coverage in Sunday's 33-30 overtime win against the Colts.
Royals made an impact on his 12 offensive snaps and seven special-teams snaps. The wide receiver scored the Chiefs' last touchdown of the game midway through the third quarter on a 1-yard pass. The fourth-round rookie may see an uptick in usage if coach Andy Reid finds new ways to use the speedy young player as the season develops.

Royals totaled two receptions (on three targets) for four yards during Sunday's 14-12 loss against Las Vegas.
Royals drew some buzz in preseason action, but it didn't translate to any real on-field production prior to Week 18. The rookie's two catches in the finale represent his only pair of catches in his rookie campaign. Chiefs wideouts JuJu Smith-Schuster and Hollywood Brown are slated to become free agents this offseason, so the Royals could have an opportunity to claim a healthier role in his second season if the brass believes in his long-term development.
