Texans' Dalton Schultz: Limited practice Wednesday
Schultz (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday.
Schultz missed back-to-back practices last week before logging a full session Friday and avoiding a Week 2 injury designation. In the Texans' subsequent win over the Bears, Schultz caught two of his three targets for 21 yards while logging a 71 percent snap share. With no reported setbacks in that contest, it's plausible that Schultz's listed limitations Wednesday were simply load management ahead of Sunday's game against the Vikings.

Texans' Dalton Schultz: Logs two catches in win
Schultz caught two of three targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 19-13 win over Chicago in Week 2.
Schultz dealt with a minor ankle injury that forced him to miss two practices this week, but he was ready to go Sunday. The tight end has five catches on six targets for 37 yards through two games. Schultz had five more targets after two weeks in 2023, which suggests the addition of wide receiver Stefon Diggs is cutting into his opportunities.

Texans' Dalton Schultz: Back at practice
Schultz (ankle) returned to practice Friday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, Schultz, who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, is dealing with a minor ankle sprain and is expected to play Sunday night against the Bears. That said, it's still possible the Texans list the tight end as questionable for the contest on the team's final Week 2 injury report.

Texans' Dalton Schultz: Good to go against Bears
Schultz (ankle) was a full participant in practice Friday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bears.
Schultz sat out a pair of practices Wednesday and Thursday, but it looks like those absences were mostly for maintenance, as he will again be able to play through the ankle injury he suffered early in the 29-22 Week 1 win over the Colts. He stayed in that game after initially sustaining the injury. Schultz's fantasy managers can deploy him as usual when the Texans host the Bears for Sunday Night Football.

Texans' Dalton Schultz: Diagnosed with ankle sprain
Schultz suffered an ankle sprain early in Sunday's 29-22 win over Colts but managed to play through the injury, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
No injury was reported during the game, but Schultz has since missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday with his ankle issue. Fowler suggests that the injury isn't severe, though his status is still in jeopardy if he can't return to the practice field Friday.

Texans' Dalton Schultz: Not practicing Thursday
Schultz (ankle) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Schultz, who didn't practice Wednesday, thus has one more opportunity to log on-field reps ahead of Sunday's contest against the Bears. In the event that he's limited or out this weekend, added opportunities would be available for fellow tight ends Brevin Jordan and Cade Stover.

Texans' Dalton Schultz: Misses practice Wednesday
Schultz did not practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
Schultz played 79 percent of the offensive snaps in Houston's Week 1 win over Indianapolis while securing three targets for 16 yards, but he appears to have sustained an ankle injury in the process. The starting tight end will have two more opportunities to increase his practice participation before Houston potentially tags him with an injury designation for Sunday's matchup against the Bears. If Schultz ends up limited or has to sit out Week 2, Brevin Jordan would likely step in as the Texans' primary tight end.

Texans' Dalton Schultz: Three targets in Week 1
Schultz caught all three of his targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 29-27 win over the Colts in Week 1.
As expected, Schultz was the snap and target leader at tight end, ahead of Brevin Jordan. Even so, Schultz may be hard pressed to repeat the 88 targets he had in 2023. The target distribution Sunday heavily skewed toward Houston's wideouts, who were targeted 22 times compared to five for the tight ends.
