  • 49ers' Deebo Samuel: Not practicing Monday

Samuel (ribs) wasn't spotted at Monday's practice, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Samuel emerged from this past Thursday's win over the Giants with sore ribs, so his status will need to be monitored ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Added context with regard to the wideout's Week 4 status will arrive no later than Wednesday, when the 49ers' first official practice/injury report of the week is posted.

  • 49ers' Deebo Samuel: Emerges from win with sore ribs

Samuel's ribs are sore after a win over the Giants on Thursday, but testing didn't reveal any breaks or serious damage, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Despite appearing to be in pain and coming out for a couple plays at one point in the second half, Samuel handled over 90 percent of snaps in Thursday's games until things got out of hands in the fourth quarter. His 27-yard TD with six minutes remaining was the knockout blow in a 30-12 victory, putting Samuel at a 6-129-1 receiving line on 12 targets in a game the Niners played without fellow wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder). Both of the team's top WRs are banged up now, though that may not be the case by the time the Niners play their next game in Week 4 against Arizona on Sunday, Oct. 1.

  • 49ers' Deebo Samuel: Thrives without Aiyuk in win

Samuel brought in six of 12 targets for 129 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for two yards in the 49ers' 30-12 win over the Giants on Thursday night.

With fellow wideout Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) sidelined, Samuel took full advantage and paced the 49ers in receiving yards and targets on the night. The versatile fifth-year pro has upped his receiving yardage total over that of the prior game in each of the last two contests, and he recorded his first receiving touchdown of the campaign via a 27-yard scoring grab with 5:58 remaining that sealed the win for San Francisco. Samuel struggled with injury last season, but his 17-247-1 line through the air and 8-48-1 tally on the ground through three games offer a reminder of what he's capable of when his health is clicking on all cylinders. Samuel next takes aim at the Cardinals in a Week 4 home matchup a week from Sunday.

  • 49ers' Deebo Samuel: Finds end zone Sunday

Samuel caught six of nine targets for 63 yards while rushing five times for 38 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-23 win over the Rams.

Samuel got things going for his fantasy managers with his first touchdown of the season following a modest Week 1. The dual-threat wideout got into the end zone on the ground, finishing with six carries after rushing just twice last week. He still contributed as a receiver, leading San Francisco in targets, receptions and receiving yards. Samuel and the 49ers will now enter a short practice week ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Giants.
