49ers' Brett Toth: Placed on season-ending IR
The 49ers placed Toth (concussion) on injured reserve Sunday.
Toth missed most of training camp due to a concussion, an issue which prevented him from playing in the Eagles' wild-card loss to the 49ers in January. Because there was no designation to return attached to his placement on IR, Toth will be required to miss the entire 2026 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the 49ers.

49ers' Brett Toth: Absent with concussion
Toth (concussion) was absent from Thursday's training camp session, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Toth suffered a concussion in Week 18 of the 2025 season. Another head injury for the backup center is not a good sign, and the team will likely want to be especially cautious with his recovery. Drake Nugent may see more reps at center in Toth's absence.

49ers' Brett Toth: Joins 49ers
Toth (concussion) agreed to terms Tuesday on a one-year contract with the 49ers, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Toth has started six games since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He's not expected to push for a full-time starting job, but he should provide depth on the interior offensive line.

Eagles' Brett Toth: Won't play Sunday
Toth (concussion), who was originally listed as questionable for Sunday's wild-card matchup against the 49ers, has been downgraded to out.
The Army product sustained a concussion during the Week 18 loss to the Commanders and couldn't clear protocol in time to play Sunday. While Toth is sidelined for the wild-card round, expect Drew Kendall to operate as Philadelphia's top reserve center.

Eagles' Brett Toth: Ruled out Sunday
Toth (head) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Commanders, Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com reports.
The backup lineman was evaluated for a possible concussion after a blow to the head earlier in the second half. Toth was playing left guard on a day when the Eagles were resting most of their starters, and Matt Pryor came in to replace him.
