Jorge Barrosa ARI CF
Diamondbacks' Jorge Barrosa: Making fourth straight start
2m agoBarrosa will start in center field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Mets.
Barrosa will stick in the lineup for a fourth straight game, with the switch-hitting outfielder making two starts versus lefties and two versus righties during that stretch. With all of Pavin Smith (elbow), Carlos Santana (adductor), Jordan Lawlar (wrist) and Lourdes Gurriel (knee) on the injured list, Barrosa could have fairly clear path to regular playing time until the Diamondbacks reclaim some health. Barrosa has gone 3-for-16 with three doubles and three runs through his first five games of the season.
-
Cristian Javier HOU SP
Astros' Cristian Javier: Leaves outing with apparent injury
7m agoJavier was lifted from Wednesday's start in Colorado after just one inning due to an apparent injury, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
AJ Blubaugh was warming in the Astros' bullpen before Javier even took the field before the second inning, so it seems the club knew something was off. Javier then threw a warm-up pitch, motioned to the dugout and eventually exited, and Blubaugh entered the game. The Astros should have an update on Javier's condition shortly. He gave up three hits and one run in the first inning before departing.
-
Jake Meyers HOU CF
Astros' Jake Meyers: Exits game with side injury
14m agoMeyers was removed from Wednesday's game versus the Rockies in the second inning with a right side injury, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Meyers checked his swing on a Michael Lorenzen pitch but tweaked something in the process. He will likely be sent for an MRI to see if he's dealing with an oblique strain. Should Meyers have to miss time, Joey Loperfido and Brice Matthews are candidates for more playing time in center field.
-
Dominic Smith ATL 1B
Braves' Dominic Smith: Idle against lefty
16m agoSmith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
The left-handed-hitting Smith will be relegated to the bench for the second straight game while the Angels send another southpaw (Reid Detmers) to the bump. With Smith sitting out, Jonah Heim will receive a start at catcher and Drake Baldwin will serve as Atlanta's designated hitter.
-
Drew Millas WAS C
Nationals' Drew Millas: Part of timeshare with Ruiz
23m agoMillas will start at catcher and bat eighth Wednesday against the Cardinals.
Keibert Ruiz was expected to open the season as the Nationals' clear No. 1 catcher, but he's instead been part of a timeshare at the position with Millas. The two backstops have alternated starts through Washington's first 12 games, but neither has separated himself from the other from a performance standpoint. Millas has maintained a .509 OPS through 21 plate appearances, while Ruiz owns a .563 OPS over 22 plate appearances.

Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Part of catching timeshare
25m agoRuiz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
Ruiz remains part of a timeshare at catcher with Drew Millas, as the two backstops have alternated starts behind the plate through the Nationals' first 12 games. Neither player has done much to separate himself from the other, with Ruiz posting a .563 OPS to Millas' .509.

Pedro Pages STL C
Cardinals' Pedro Pages: Resting Wednesday
35m agoPages is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Washington.
Pages will get a breather for the afternoon game after starting behind the plate in three of the Cardinals' previous four contests. Ivan Herrera will handle catching duties in the series finale.
-
Austin Wells NYY C
Yankees' Austin Wells: Out of Yankees' lineup
40m agoWells is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Athletics.
It's a routine day of rest after Wells had started at catcher in each of the previous five tilts. J.C. Escarra will handle catching duties Wednesday in Wells' stead.
-
Nick Fortes TB C
Rays' Nick Fortes: Exiting starting lineup
1h agoFortes is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Cubs.
Fortes started at catcher in the first two games of the series, so he'll get some rest in Wednesday's finale. Hunter Feduccia will be behind the dish and bat seventh for Tampa Bay.
-
Yainer Diaz HOU C
Astros' Yainer Diaz: Resting Wednesday
2h agoDiaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.
After starting in each of Houston's last five games, Diaz will get a much-needed breather as the Astros wrap up their series in Colorado with a day game after a night game. Christian Vazquez will handle catching duties Wednesday.
-
Dominic Smith ATL 1B
Braves' Dominic Smith: Idle against lefty
16m agoSmith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
The left-handed-hitting Smith will be relegated to the bench for the second straight game while the Angels send another southpaw (Reid Detmers) to the bump. With Smith sitting out, Jonah Heim will receive a start at catcher and Drake Baldwin will serve as Atlanta's designated hitter.
-
Spencer Steer CIN 1B
Reds' Spencer Steer: Not in Reds' lineup
1h agoSteer is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Steer is 1-for-11 with five strikeouts over his last three contests, so he'll get a day to regroup. Will Benson will cover left field and Noelvi Marte will be in right field as the Reds aim for their sixth straight victory.
-
Josh Naylor SEA 1B
Mariners' Josh Naylor: Handed off day Wednesday
3h agoNaylor is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
With southpaw MacKenzie Gore on the bump for Texas in an afternoon game after a night game, the Mariners will give the left-handed-hitting Naylor his first day off of the season. Connor Joe was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday and will immediately enter the starting nine as Naylor's replacement at first base.
-
P.J. Higgins CIN 1B
Reds' P.J. Higgins: Summoned to big leagues
5h agoThe Reds selected Higgins' contract from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday.
With Jose Trevino (spine) landing on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move, Higgins will primarily serve as a backup catcher while he's up with Cincinnati, though the 32-year-old is also capable of playing both corner-infield positions. Higgins -- who posted a .645 OPS over 111 games at Louisville in 2025 -- last saw big-league action with the Cubs in 2022.
-
Jac Caglianone KC 1B
Royals' Jac Caglianone: Exiting starting nine Wednesday
5h agoCaglianone is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.
The left-handed-hitting Caglianone was included in the lineup the last time the Royals faced a lefty starter (Milwaukee's Kyle Harrison) on Sunday, but the 23-year-old will head to the bench for the series finale in Cleveland while southpaw Joey Cantillo takes the hill for Cleveland. Caglianone will give up his usual spot in right field to Starling Marte, who will bat eighth.
-
C.J. Kayfus CLE 1B
Guardians' CJ Kayfus: Hitting bench for series finale
6h agoKayfus is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
After starting in right field in Tuesday's 2-1 win while southpaw Noah Cameron took the hill for Kansas City, the left-handed-hitting Kayfus will retreat to the bench for the series finale while the Royals send another lefty (Cole Ragans) to the bump. Chase DeLauter will step in for Kayfus in right field and will bat fifth.
-
Jorbit Vivas WAS 2B
Nationals' Jorbit Vivas: Sticking in bench role
27m agoVivas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.
After picking up starts in all three games of the Nationals' series versus the Dodgers over the weekend, Vivas has been on the bench for the entire three-game set versus the Cardinals. Despite posting a .934 OPS over 23 plate appearances to begin the season, Vivas looks like he'll have to settle for a utility role while Washington has all of its key infielders available.
-
Jose Caballero NYY 2B
Yankees' Jose Caballero: Getting rest day Wednesday
44m agoCaballero is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Athletics.
Caballero started each of the first 10 games this season at shortstop, but he'll get some rest Wednesday. Ryan McMahon is making his first-ever professional start at shortstop, while Amed Rosario will handle third base for the Yankees.
-
Edouard Julien COL 2B
Rockies' Edouard Julien: Gaining traction atop lineup
1h agoJulien will start at second base and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game against the Astros.
Julien will handle leadoff duties for a third straight contest and appears to have at least temporarily reclaimed a spot in the Rockies' starting nine against right-handed pitching while Jake McCarthy (.385 OPS) and Jordan Beck (.268 OPS) have struggled out of the gate and have lost out on playing time as a result. With a .513 OPS in 20 plate appearances, Julien has been marginally better, but he'll likely need to raise his production to ensure he sticks atop the lineup on a longer-term basis.
-
Hye Seong Kim LAD 2B
Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim: Heading to bench Wednesday
2h agoKim is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
Since receiving a call-up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Kim has started at shortstop in two of the Dodgers' ensuing four games and has gone 3-for-7 with a double, two walks and three runs. Miguel Rojas will get the nod at shortstop Wednesday, but as the left-handed option of the two, Kim could see the larger share of starts at the position until the Dodgers get Mookie Betts (oblique) back from the injured list.
-
Boston Baro NYM 2B
Mets' Boston Baro: Out multiple months
3h agoHigh-A Brooklyn placed Baro on the 60-day injured list March 18 with a right shoulder injury, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.
Dykstra reports that Baro will be back in action in June. The 21-year-old infielder slashed .224/.282/.321 with four home runs and 28 steals in 103 games at High-A a season ago.
-
Luis Rengifo MIL 2B
Brewers' Luis Rengifo: Collecting fourth straight start
3h agoRengifo will start at third base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
Rengifo will cover third base for a fourth straight game after going 2-for-14 with a pair of doubles and a run scored over the previous three contests. Despite the recent uptick in playing time, Rengifo won't necessarily be in line for an everyday role moving forward. He's benefited from Milwaukee facing two left-handed starters during this four-game stretch, as well as Brice Turang being held out of the lineup for the latter two contests while battling what appears to be a minor ankle injury.
-
Tyler Freeman COL 3B
Rockies' Tyler Freeman: Cleared to rejoin lineup Wednesday
2h agoFreeman (back) will start at designated hitter and will bat second in Wednesday's game against the Astros.
Freeman experienced lower-back tightness leading up to Sunday's 4-1 win over the Phillies, resulting in him being scratched from the lineup. He went unused off the bench in the first two games of the Rockies' series versus Houston, but after healing up from the back issue, Freeman will take back a spot in the starting nine in a non-defensive role. Now healthy, Freeman is likely to serve as a short-side platoon player for Colorado and will be an option at multiple infield and outfield spots.
-
Josh Jung TEX 3B
Rangers' Josh Jung: Remaining on bench Wednesday
2h agoJung (undisclosed) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.
Jung will hit the bench for the third time in four games, with manager Skip Schumaker noting Tuesday that the 28-year-old is "a little banged up." Ezequiel Duran will pick up another start at third base in his stead, but Jung is expected to be available to play, if needed.
-
Alec Bohm PHI 3B
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Back in action Wednesday
3h agoBohm (groin) will start at third base and bat cleanup in Wednesday's game versus the Giants.
Bohm was held out of action Tuesday due to some minor groin tightness, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go in Wednesday's series finale after one day of rest. The 29-year-old sports a .205/.295/.308 batting line with one home run and a 4:5 BB:K across his first 44 plate appearances this season.
-
Caleb Durbin BOS 3B
Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Makes impact off bench
4h agoDurbin entered Tuesday's game as a pinch hitter and went 0-for-1 with an RBI in a 3-2 win over Milwaukee. He remained in the game at third base.
Durbin pinch hit for Marcelo Mayer in a tie game with runners in scoring position against a left-hander in the sixth inning and plated the eventual game-winning run on a slow roller to second base. Following an 0-for-18 start to the season, Durbin has found moderate success since, going 4-for-15 with a walk, a double and two RBI over the last five games.
-
Gunnar Henderson BAL 3B
Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Launches fourth homer
5h agoHenderson went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-2 win against the White Sox.
Henderson broke the tie with his fourth home run of the season in the eighth inning with a two-run shot off Chris Murphy, providing the decisive runs in Baltimore's win Tuesday. The 24-year-old has been locked in at the plate lately, homering in three of his last five games while going 7-for-20 with five RBI, five runs scored and a 1.285 OPS over that stretch. After a down year power-wise in 2025, where he hit 17 homers across 651 plate appearances, Henderson is beginning to look more like his former self again at the plate.
-
Curtis Mead WAS 3B
Nationals' Curtis Mead: Big day in extra-inning loss
6h agoMead went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.
Getting the start at first base and batting second, Mead took left-hander Matthew Liberatore deep for a solo shot in the fifth inning, giving the Nationals a 5-2 lead that the bullpen would eventually squander. The 25-year-old has mainly been used as a short-side platoon partner for Luis Garcia since arriving in Washington, and he's finding a groove in that role -- over the last four games he's gone 5-for-11 with two doubles, a homer and three RBI. If Mead keeps producing, he could begin to see more work at DH and against right-handed pitching.
-
Casey Schmitt SF SS
Giants' Casey Schmitt: Back on bench Wednesday
40m agoSchmitt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
After a tight back kept him out of action for four straight games, Schmitt returned to the lineup at designated hitter in Tuesday's 6-0 win and went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored. Prior to Tuesday, Schmitt had made each of his seven starts this season at first base, but the Giants likely won't have much of a need for him at that position now after Rafael Devers recently received clearance to play the field on a more recurring basis. Schmitt could be ticketed for more of a utility infield role moving forward.
-
Amed Rosario NYY SS
Yankees' Amed Rosario: Another start after two-homer game
42m agoRosario will start at third base and bat eighth in Wednesday's contest versus the Athletics.
Rosario earned another start by slugging two home runs in Tuesday's victory over the Athletics. Ryan McMahon will slide over to shortstop in place of Jose Caballero, who is getting a day off Wednesday.
-
Carlos Correa HOU SS
Astros' Carlos Correa: Sitting out again with illness
2h agoCorrea is absent from the lineup for a second straight day Wednesday in Colorado due to an illness, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Correa wasn't at the ballpark at all Tuesday, but he was present Wednesday and went through a light workout. He could be available off the bench for the series finale, but Correa will aim to return to the Astros' starting lineup Friday in Seattle after his team is idle Thursday. Isaac Paredes will handle third base duties again Wednesday.
-
Colt Emerson SEA SS
Mariners' Colt Emerson: Rejoins Triple-A lineup
3h agoEmerson (foot) started at shortstop and went 2-for-3 with a walk, two stolen bases and an RBI on Tuesday in Triple-A Tacoma's 1-0 win over Sugar Land.
Emerson suffered a right foot injury while playing in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday, but he needed just a couple of days of rest and recovery to move past the issue. The 20-year-old infielder likely isn't far away from making his big-league debut, after he agreed last week with Seattle on an eight-year, $95 million contract extension. Through eight games with Tacoma this season, Emerson is slashing .310/.355/.483 with three extra-base hits across 32 plate appearances.
-
Leonardo Rivas SEA SS
Mariners' Leo Rivas: Playing time trending down
3h agoRivas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
Rivas had drawn starts at either shortstop or third base in 10 of the Mariners' first 11 games, but he'll remain on the bench for a second day in a row as Seattle closes out its series in Arlington. With J.P. Crawford recently returning from a stint on the injured list and expected to handle a near-everyday role at shortstop moving forward, Rivas' opportunities will likely be limited now that Seattle has all of its key infielders available.
-
Nasim Nunez WAS SS
Nationals' Nasim Nunez: Keeps running Tuesday
3h agoNunez went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.
The 25-year-old switch hitter continues to make an impact on the basepaths while seeing consistent playing time, going 7-for-7 on steal attempts in his first nine games of 2026. Nunez isn't doing much else, however, slashing .200/.282/.200 with three RBI and four runs while mainly hitting toward the bottom of the Nationals' lineup. While Washington seems comfortable with his defense at second base, Nunez may need to provide more overall offense to hang onto a starting job.
-
Jorge Barrosa ARI CF
-
Jake Meyers HOU CF
Astros' Jake Meyers: Exits game with side injury
14m agoMeyers was removed from Wednesday's game versus the Rockies in the second inning with a right side injury, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Meyers checked his swing on a Michael Lorenzen pitch but tweaked something in the process. He will likely be sent for an MRI to see if he's dealing with an oblique strain. Should Meyers have to miss time, Joey Loperfido and Brice Matthews are candidates for more playing time in center field.
-
Jerar Encarnacion SF LF
Giants' Jerar Encarnacion: Gaining traction as everyday player
44m agoEncarnacion will start in left field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Phillies.
Though he'll be playing left field in place of a resting Heliot Ramos, Encarnacion appears to have taken on a more regular role at designated hitter now that Rafael Devers has been cleared to play first base on a more frequent basis. Encarnacion will stick in the San Francisco lineup for a sixth consecutive game after producing exactly one hit in each of his previous five starts.
-
Cedric Mullins TB CF
Rays' Cedric Mullins: Sitting out versus righty
1h agoMullins is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.
Right-hander Colin Rea will toe the rubber for the Cubs, but the left-handed-hitting Mullins will nonetheless begin the contest on the bench. Jonny DeLuca will patrol center field and bat eighth in Wednesday's rubber match.
-
Jake McCarthy COL RF
Rockies' Jake McCarthy: Sitting in second straight game
1h agoMcCarthy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
The Rockies having right-handed starters in every game so far this season, but that hasn't been enough for the left-handed-hitting McCarthy to hold down a full-time role. After struggling to a .120/.185/.200 batting line through his first 28 plate appearances with the Rockies, McCarthy will stay on the bench for a second straight game. The slumping Jordan Beck (.268 OPS in 27 plate appearances) will also hit the bench, with both he and McCarthy having started to cede more opportunities to Troy Johnston and Edouard Julien.
-
Willi Castro COL LF
Rockies' Willi Castro: Receiving first day off of 2026
2h agoCastro is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
Castro will head to the bench for the first time in 2026 after making starts at all four infield spots through Colorado's first 11 games of the season. With Castro bowing out of the lineup for the series finale, Edouard Julien will enter the starting nine at the keystone.
-
Cristian Javier HOU SP
-
Logan Taylor Allen CLE SP
Guardians' Logan Allen: Sent back to minors
1h agoThe Guardians returned Allen to Triple-A Columbus on Monday.
Cleveland called Allen up from Triple-A Columbus on Sunday and designated him as its 27th man for a doubleheader with the Cubs, but he went unused out of the bullpen for either game of the twin bill. He'll slot back into the rotation upon returning to Columbus.
-
Yoniel Curet PHI SP
Phillies' Yoniel Curet: Pushed off 40-man roster
1h agoThe Phillies designated Curet for assignment Wednesday.
The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of outfielder Steward Berroa, who was acquired via trade with Milwaukee. Curet was a waiver claim of the Phillies over the offseason and made three appearances in spring training, but he's yet to pitch since the minor-league season began. The 23-year-old has erratic control but a big arm, which could be enough for another organization to scoop him up off waivers.
-
Alek Manoah LAA SP
Angels' Alek Manoah: Tossing bullpen sessions
3h agoManoah (finger) has been throwing bullpen sessions with all of his pitches at the Angels' spring complex in Arizona, MLB.com reports.
Manoah landed on the injured list in late March after his fingernail fell off following a Cactus League start. He's back to throwing, though it's unclear what the Angels will do with the veteran hurler once he's ready to return to game action. Manoah struggled mightily during spring play, posting a 9.39 ERA and 2.41 WHIP with a 13:14 K:BB over 15.1 innings spanning five outings.
-
Jacob deGrom TEX SP
Rangers' Jacob deGrom: Locked in to start Sunday
3h agoThe Rangers list deGrom (knee) as their probable starter for Sunday's game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Earlier Wednesday, deGrom relayed that he was already feeling much better, after he had experienced discomfort in his right knee before and during his most recent start in Monday's 2-1 win over the Mariners. The Rangers seemingly concur with deGrom's self-assessment, and barring a setback during his between-starts bullpen session, he'll receive the green light to take the hill on five days' rest during the series finale at Dodger Stadium. Through his first two outings this season, deGrom has submitted a 3.72 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 13:1 K:BB in 9.2 innings.
-
R.J. Gordon NYM SP
Mets' R.J. Gordon: Out with lat injury
3h agoDouble-A Binghamton placed Gordon on the 7-day injured list April 2 with a lat injury, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.
The injury is expected to sideline Gordon until late April/early May. The 24-year-old righty logged a 3.69 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 71:15 K:BB in 61 innings at Double-A in 2025.
-
Cole Ragans KC RP
Royals' Cole Ragans: Suffers thumb contusion Wednesday
1h agoThe Royals announced that Ragans was removed from his start in Wednesday's game against the Guardians in the first inning due to a left thumb contusion. He recorded two outs via strikeout and was charged with three earned runs on two hits and one walk.
Ragans sustained the injury when he was struck on the hand by a Jose Ramirez comebacker. The southpaw initially stayed in the game, but after struggling with his control against the next two hitters he faced, the Royals opted to pull the plug on his start. Though preliminary X-rays have ruled out any structural damage to Ragans' pitching hand, he'll still need to show that the thumb contusion presents no issues with his ability to grip and command the baseball before the Royals clear him to make his next turn through the rotation. Ragans tentatively lines up to make his fourth start of the season during next week's series in Detroit.
-
Robert Stephenson LAA RP
Angels' Robert Stephenson: Opts for another elbow surgery
1h agoThe Angels announced that Stephenson underwent ligament and flexor repair surgery on his right elbow Wednesday and is likely to miss the remainder of the season, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Stephenson was placed on the 60-day injured list prior to Opening Day due to right elbow inflammation, an issue that cropped up during spring training. He had initially been eased into workouts during camp after he had experienced symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome over the winter. While Stephenson was able to avoid another UCL reconstruction surgery after previously requiring the procedure in May 2024, the 33-year-old right-hander is nonetheless on track to miss his second full season since signing a three-year, $33 million deal with the Angels following the 2023 campaign. The contract includes a $2.5 million club option for 2027, so the Angels could still look to bring him back next season if they're satisfied with where he stands in the rehab process.
-
Sean Manaea NYM RP
Mets' Sean Manaea: Staying in bullpen for now
2h agoMets manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that Manaea will remain in the team's bullpen for the time being, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The Mets are in the midst of nine straight games without an off day, and Mendoza had mentioned previously that he would use this stretch to insert a sixth starter into the rotation. However, he feels good about where his starting five is at, so the Mets will keep the status quo for now. Manaea has made two relief appearances this season, allowing just one run with a 4:4 K:BB over five innings of work.
-
Cole Ragans KC RP
Royals' Cole Ragans: Lifted from start due to hand issue
2h agoRagans was removed from his start Wednesday against the Guardians in the first inning due to an apparent left hand injury, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports. He recorded two outs and was charged with three earned runs on two hits and a walk prior to departing.
After striking out the first two batters he faced, Ragans was struck in his pitching hand by a 96-mile-per-hour comebacker off the bat of Jose Ramirez, who reached on an infield single. Ragans was evaluated by the Royals' training staff and cleared to remain in the game, but after issuing a four-pitch walk and then yielding a two-run double to Chase DeLauter, he was pulled from the contest. The Royals will likely send him in for X-rays to determine whether or not he suffered a fracture, but even if tests come back negative, Ragans could still be at risk of missing his next turn through the rotation.
-
Tyler Kinley ATL RP
Braves' Tyler Kinley: Collects first win of season
3h agoKinley (1-0) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one hit and striking out two over a scoreless two-thirds of an inning in a victory over the Angels.
Reynaldo Lopez got ejected with two outs in the fifth inning and Atlanta ahead 4-2 at the time, failing to qualify for the win as a result, so Kinley was credited with the decision as the next man out of the bullpen. Kinley has had a strong start to the season, posting a 0.00 ERA, 0.64 WHIP and 5:1 K:BB through 4.2 innings over five appearances, but he's still looking for his first hold as part of the bridge to the high-leverage duo of Raisel Iglesias and Robert Suarez.
-
Ryan Walker SF RP
Giants' Ryan Walker: Earns hold Tuesday
3h agoWalker picked up a hold in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Phillies, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one in 1.1 scoreless innings.
As was the case in Robbie Ray's last start, Walker replaced him. Walker entered in the seventh inning with two outs and two on, escaping the frame by inducing a groundout. He allowed a single to the first batter he faced in the eighth and later issued a walk, though he didn't surrender a run. The right-hander may continue to follow Ray in his starts, though Walker is still expected to see save situations and other high-leverage innings. He has a save and a hold through five outings this season, posting a 4.15 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 5:3 K:BB across 4.1 innings.
-
Marcell Ozuna PIT DH
Pirates' Marcell Ozuna: On bench again Wednesday
5h agoOzuna is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
For the third time in four games, Ozuna will hit the bench after getting off to a porous start to the season. Over 35 plate appearances, the veteran slugger is slashing just .065/.171/.065. Ozuna is still walking at a 11.4 percent clip, and his strikeout rate sits at a manageable 22.9 percent, so he'll have some hope for a turnaround if he can benefit from some better luck on balls in play.

Angels' Jorge Soler: Ejected Tuesday
16h agoSoler was ejected from Tuesday's game against Atlanta after getting into a fight with Reynaldo Lopez.
