Top Broncos News

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Lands on injured reserve

The Broncos placed Harvey (knee) on injured reserve Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Harvey was already ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Chiefs, but now that he's on IR, the second-year running back will be required to miss at least the next four games. That means the earliest that he is eligible to return is Week 13 against the Dolphins on Sunday, Dec. 6. In Harvey's absence, the Broncos' backfield will be led by J.K. Dobbins and rookie fourth-rounder Jonah Coleman.

  • Broncos' Zach Allen: Tagged as questionable for Week 8

Allen (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

Allen injured his hamstring during the Broncos' Week 7 win over the Cardinals. He ended Week 8 prep with back-to-back limited practices, which was enough for him to draw the questionable tag for Sunday's AFC West tilt. Malcom Roach, Jordan Jackson and Sai'vion Jones would all be in line for more defensive snaps if Allen is not cleared to play.

  • Broncos' Talanoa Hufanga: Will miss Week 8

Hufanga (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against Kansas City.

Hufanga is set to miss his third straight game due to an ankle injury he suffered Oct. 11 versus the Chargers. The veteran safety didn't practice at all this week, so it's far from certain he'll be ready to return Week 9. Devon Key and Jahdae Barron should continue to help prop up the secondary in Hufanga's absence.

  • Broncos' Brandon Jones: Questionable due to hamstring injury

Jones (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

Jones may have tweaked his hamstring during Week 8 prep, seeing as he popped up on Thursday's injury report as a limited practice participant. Talanoa Hufanga (ankle) has already been ruled out, and if he's joined by Jones on the sidelines, then the Broncos would have to rely more heavily on Devon Key, JL Skinner and Jahdae Barron in the secondary.

  • Broncos' J.K. Dobbins: No Harvey for Week 8 tilt

Dobbins and Jonah Coleman will lead the Broncos' backfield against the Chiefs on Sunday due to the absence of RJ Harvey (knee), Eric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Harvey popped up on Thursday's injury report due to a knee injury and was unable to practice Friday, which resulted in him being ruled out for Sunday's AFC West tilt. Dobbins found the end zone in Week 7 against the Cardinals but was less efficient with his carries than Coleman, although the duo could have a fairly even split in backfield duties in Harvey's absence. Through seven regular-season games. Dobbins has turned 87 carries into 293 yards (3.4 YPC) and three touchdowns while adding eight catches on nine targets for 27 yards.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Shouldn't be out too long

Harvey (knee) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, but his injury isn't considered severe or long term, Sam Jane of The Denver Post reports.

Harvey was a mid-week addition to the injury report, listed as limited Thursday and absent Friday. It sounds like he may only miss a game or two, but that could impact his role down the stretch if rookie Jonah Coleman takes advantage of the opportunity ahead. Coleman took half of the snaps and half of the backfield opportunities last week in his first game back from injured reserve, while Harvey was limited to a 25 percent snap share and five touches, relying on a 52-yard TD reception to salvage his fantasy day. Harvey's absence could free up a few more snaps and touches for Coleman or J.K. Dobbins.

  • Broncos' Jonah Coleman: Increased usage on tap?

Coleman said Friday that he'll be ready for a larger role if that's what the team needs in the absence of RJ Harvey, who has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Kansas City due to a knee injury, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Coleman already appeared to make his move last week during a 30-16 win over Arizona, playing 50 percent of snaps on offense while leading the Broncos in carries (nine) and rushing yards (54). Meanwhile, Harvey (25 percent snap share, five touches) and J.K. Dobbins (21 percent snap share, six touches) both scored touchdowns despite losing a lot of playing time to Coleman in the rookie's first game back from injured reserve. There's no assurance Coleman's role will continue to grow, but Harvey's upcoming absence -- be it for one game or longer -- does give Coleman a better chance to consolidate rushing and receiving work in Denver's backfield.

  • Broncos' Jaylen Waddle: Listed as questionable for Sunday

Waddle (chest) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs after he was a limited participant in Friday's practice.

After opening the week with a missed practice and then logging limited sessions Thursday and Friday, Waddle's status remains unsettled heading into the weekend. The Broncos and Chiefs are scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, which could mean limited alternatives for fantasy managers if Waddle comes down to a game-time decision and then doesn't play. If that were to happen, Denver would likely look to Troy Franklin, Marvin Mims and Lil'Jordan Humphrey to take more WR snaps alongside Courtland Sutton.

  • Broncos' RJ Harvey: Ruled out for Sunday's game

Harvey (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette reports.

After logging a limited practice Thursday, Harvey will now miss Sunday's divisional clash with the rival Chiefs. Jonah Coleman and J.K. Dobbins should handle most of the backfield work for the Broncos, but Tyler Badie could see some pass-game action.

  • Broncos' Talanoa Hufanga: Remains sidelined at practice

Hufanga (ankle) did not participate at the Broncos' practice Thursday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official website reports.

Hufanga has missed back-to-back practices to open the week as he continues to work his way back from an ankle injury he suffered in Week 5 versus the Chargers. The safety appears likely to miss a third straight contest, and if that's the case, Devon Key would stand to draw another start in Denver's secondary Sunday versus the Chiefs.

  • Broncos' Zach Allen: Limited practice Thursday

Allen (hamstring) was a limited participant at the Broncos' practice Thursday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official website reports.

Allen was a non-participant at practice to open the week Wednesday after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 7 versus Arizona, but he was able to return to the field Thursday. The defensive lineman will have one more chance to log a full practice prior to Sunday's matchup with the Chiefs.

  • Broncos' Marvin Mims: Logs full practice Thursday

Mims (ankle) practiced fully Thursday,Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Mims was a limited participant in Wednesday's session, but the wideout's full participation a day later sets the stage for him to be available Sunday against the Chiefs. The 2023 second-rounder has two catches in each of his last three games, with his Week 8 fantasy upside linked to the status of top WR Jaylen Waddle, who is managing a chest injury.
