49ers' Christian McCaffrey: Reenters Sunday's game
McCaffrey (thigh) returned to Sunday's contest in Atlanta, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
McCaffrey missed the entire second quarter as he had his left thigh worked on, which officially left him as questionable to return before he checked back in for the 49ers' first possession of the third quarter. Now that he's back in the contest, he likely will continue to lead San Francisco's backfield.

49ers' Christian McCaffrey: Goes to locker room Sunday
McCaffrey (thigh) went to the locker room during Sunday's game in Atlanta, Harrison Rich of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
McCaffrey remained on the sideline for the 49ers' third possession to get his left leg worked on, which seemingly stemmed from a hit he took on a 24-yard catch on the team's first drive. Officially questionable to return due to a thigh injury, he attempted to warm up on San Francisco's bench before jogging to the locker room in the middle of the second quarter. Kaelon Black will be the team's leading runner for as long as McCaffrey is out of the contest.

49ers' Christian McCaffrey: Two touchdowns in Week 6 win
McCaffrey rushed 16 times for 64 yards and two touchdowns and brought in nine of 10 targets for 53 yards in the 49ers' 23-17 win over the Commanders on Monday night. He also lost a fumble.
McCaffrey, who's been subject to a markedly lighter workload than usual over the first weeks of the campaign, recorded season highs in rush attempts, receptions, receptions and targets on a very busy night. The star running back also contributed his second multi-touchdown tally of the season, powering into the end zone on a pair of one-yard runs in the first half. McCaffrey logged twice as many carries and nine more targets than rookie backfield mate Kaelon Black, so there's no naturally no question who the leader of the ground attack is heading into a Week 7 road matchup against the Falcons on Sunday.

49ers' Christian McCaffrey: Stretches TD streak to four games
McCaffrey rushed 11 times for 68 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 32-29 win over the Seahawks.
McCaffrey gave the 49ers a 14-10 lead with an 11-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. His 14 touches tied a season low, and McCaffrey has yet to reach 20 touches in a game, as the undefeated 49ers have been content to manage his workload to some extent in order to keep the star running back fresh after McCaffrey averaged over 24 touches per game in the 2025 regular season. The reduced workload hasn't kept McCaffrey from scoring five touchdowns across his last four games, and he'll look to extend his four-game scoring streak in Week 6 against the Commanders.
